Frank Ly makes lo-fi bedroom electronica. The Berlin-based beatmaker and producer returns this year
with a new collection of dusty synth beats. The release features a wide array of grooves and textures
and sees him moving away from a sample-based hip-hop approach towards more experimental soundscapes
and organic grooves.

The lead single from the eight-track EP, Bug, is a long-form lo-fi ambient house banger that will take you to Mars
and then fly you home safely. Influences from Blood Orange, Knxwledge and Yves Tumor can be seen in tracks Rough Beat for Pinello and AWM. The track AFX is a tribute to the iconic Scottish producer of the same name.

Music has always been central in Frank’s life. He has been playing jazz since he was eight, and grew up in a musical environment influenced by his father, Peter Dasent, composer of scores for acclaimed cult films Braindead, Meet the Feebles and Heavenly Creatures. He moved from Australia to Berlin three years ago, where he currently lives.
