From the beating Latin heart of the modern disco world, Discodromo join us for their first Slow Motion release and our third overall. With two original tracks and two stunning remixes this pair of cheeky italians first bring us the laid back charms of Stars and Rain featuring the vocal talents Miss Plug In. Strutting funk and cascading synths are the order of the day on this taut laser workout. With a bitterest melody and relentless drums, this is a cinematic excursion into 10am disco music. Miss Plug In’s blank eyed vocals are one part Rimini, to two parts Berlin giving the track a hazy, druggy feel that will work like magic on the even the most demanding dance floors.

Next up is Etzel reminiscent of Yello and YMO, an epic disco workout that begins as something you may hear at a Balearic beach party, before the beat drops and it’s hands in the air and feet on the dance floor for a very modern take on the Italo sound.

Remixes come courtesy of Club Silencio who turn in a dirty house mix of Stars and Rain, complete EBM flourishes that may or may not be a Nitzer Ebb sample. Stripping things back to the bare essentials and then bringing in their own percussion and samples, Club Silencio cut up the vocal for a very hypnotic effect. Label boss, and hardest working man in disco Franz Underwear turns in a peak time club version of the track, with a nod to the underground disco clubs of Berlin.

With his track “Time Is Not Real,” Dutch producer Doctr resurrects the break fever of the 1980s. Driven by syncopated beats and an irresistible slapped bassline, the track clearly draws inspiration from “Street Dance,” while injecting a modern dynamic and a vocal by Belle Doron. 

Percussive breaks, subtle vocoders, and an uptempo groove give the piece an energy crafted for the dancefloor. A retro-futuristic gem that belongs on every nu-funk and electro-boogie playlist.
With "Echoes," Doctr delivers a delicate Italo disco ballad. The catchy, melodic, and luminous leads rise like memories that refuse to fade away. In the background, airy pads weave a sensitive, almost cinematic atmosphere. The refined and nuanced production plays on contrasts between danceable pulse and introspection. A track that touches both the heart and the body, standing at the crossroads of the club and pure emotion.

To close the release, “The Calling” is an irresistible groove set to ignite dancefloors. At the heart of the track, a powerful and hypnotic 30-second percussive break grabs attention before giving way to a perfectly crafted Italo disco melody. This contrast between raw rhythmic energy and melodic finesse makes the track an essential club anthem, embodying the perfect fusion of power and sonic elegance.

Berlin-based producer and DJ Elninodiablo (aka Stephanos Pantelas) unveils his most personal and unrestrained release to date: The Downey Groove, arriving September 19 on his own label, El Niño Diablo Music. 

To mark the debut album release, he’s throwing a party at Lunchbox Candy, the queer-led night he runs at Kreuzwerk that’s quietly redefined Berlin’s underground. With 2K+ crowds, wild performances, a sex worker-run Loveroom, and regulars like Peaches, it’s one of the city’s most in-demand parties, now headlining WHOLE Festival and on the radar for Sydney Mardi Gras 2026.

Conceived during an extended solo stay in the mountains of Cyprus, the album emerged from a period of deep introspection and play. With only a laptop, headphones, and a field recorder, Pantelas shed expectation and allowed intuition to guide the process. What began as informal sketches gradually evolved into a full-fledged album—loose, soulful, and steeped in feeling.

The result is an eight-track voyage through dub-drenched electronics, warm psychedelia, and sensual grooves, rich in texture, full of emotional nuance, and anchored by rhythm. Opening track ‘Purple Hypnotic’ sets the tone with woozy pads, aqueous textures and whispered fragments, before ‘Misteriosa Noche’ flips the vibe with a shimmering, funk-laced swerve. ‘The Soul Monad’ invokes the spiritual influence of Eno, Byrne and Sherwood with a bass-heavy, ceremonial dub, while ‘Subadrift’ offers up a spacey, synth-driven lift-off that draws on echoes of ‘80s/‘90s electronica.

When Kiss Me Hard hits the room, it opens like a sigh: slow waves of groove rolling in, arms outstretched, ready to claim the skin. It’s a track built not on words, but on motion: every element conspires to move your body, sharpen your focus, and elevate the night.
 From the outset, the percussion is crisp yet elastic: hats slicing through the air, toms and rims that snap and stretch. The kick is warm, present, grounding, a heartbeat you can lean into. Over it, supple bass echoes with funk-tinged resonance, weaving through the low end with confidence.
Synth lines rise like flirtatious whispers: bright stabs, shimmering pads, arpeggios that circle and tease. There’s a touch of acid,  just enough to sting the edges, while subtle melodic motifs push and pull you forward. The harmonic layers build gradually, giving space, tension, release. In anticipation of our upcoming EP 'Danza Nel Vulcano' on @radiotornadorecords, we’re dropping two free downloads. The first one is a loose interpretation of Demon God by The Intergalactic Orchestra — a magical space horror disco record from 1979 and part of the album Supernova. We tried to give our own twist to the track, adding elements like vocoders, brass stabs and Italo-ish basslines to spice it up. Big thanks to @sierk for inspiring us to create this and Dynamic D for being the first to give the track airtime on his amazing operator radio show.

It had been raining incessantly for months now, the streets seemed desolate as if the locals had abandoned them, opting instead for the safety of their own homes. The sky was eternally overcast and gloomy, but in downtown the bright neon signs of the shops lit up the neighbourhood in fluorescent pinks, blues and greens. Here, the mood was different, the people were hopeful. In swathes, the inhabitants walked the vibrantly illuminated streets, filling them with laughter and enthusiastic chitchat. There was no point mourning, life was too short for that. 

Slow Motion's sister label Wrong Era welcome Pardon Moi to the family AKA Berlin-based duo James Brook and Thomas Freudenthal. The pair produce three original tracks of new wave aimed directly at the dance floor - our favourite is label manager Franz Scala's Italo twist on the title track.
