Fraser Teeple has worked as a tree climber for a little over a decade. The songs on "Hired Saw" carry the cuts, the dirt, the smell of gasoline and woodchips, the character of the folks he has worked with, and the pride and pain of the work itself. 

Produced in Old East Village, London, Ontario by Mark Vogelsang, the album was recorded live in the studio with one mic, and shows a songwriter delivering his work raw, and without accompaniment to lean on. 

Fraser approaches his songwriting craft like a tradesman: he respects the strong tradition he stands within, and works carefully and with dedication to master the simple skills of telling a story, creating an image, or crafting a melody.
