SCAR return to Goldie's seminal Metalheadz imprint with the Caged EP, dropping October 2nd.

As the joint alias of veterans Survival and Script, SCAR was never going to have much of a ladder to climb; still it's the duo's finely tuned production skills - rather than previous fame - that have earned them a multitude of releases across Horizons, Dispatch and Metalheadz since forming last year.

Title-track 'Caged' sets the stage for a 3-track (plus 2 digital bonuses) romp through hard-edged drum & bass. Tight, unforgiving drum-work drives the track, and paired with a solid low end, 'Caged' makes for a formidable dancefloor weapon.

PRE ORDER NOW (via bandcamp) TO RECEIVE ANOTHER CHANCE by DLR 1 week early - - -Next up from Sofa Sound is the forthcoming collaborations from drum & bass heavyweights DLR, Break, Randall and Ulterior Motive, a collective who’ve all helped to pioneer the genre whilst staying inherently underground. Whilst Break and Randall have laid its foundations, producers like DLR and Ulterior Motive have shaped the more contemporary scene, although both tracks signify the colossal engineering standards of each featuring artist. The established names also bring their weight to Sofa Sound’s back catalogue, which has expanded since its creation by DLR in 2017. 

DLR, Break and Randall come together for lead track ‘Song & Dance’, an old-school reminiscent roller with snipped up, mc-lead vocal samples and jazzy instrumentals. The energy between all three artists is instantly recognisable, with Randall’s old-school approach shining through each layer. On top of strung guitar notes and a hook which nods to its namesake, ‘Song & Dance’ blends a mixture of styles to present a versatile addition to Sofa Sound.

Next comes ‘Modules’, featuring a combination of sonics recorded through Ulterior Motive’s modular set up. The ruminating drums and basses brought from the collections of their collaborators deliver its funkier elements, with the bassline fluctuating between notes and twisting its way through a melodic undertow. Alongside its unusual structure, the track’s organic approach and frequent switches grab its listener unaware. Another imperative release on Sofa Sound, the imprint has shown its commitment to artists from across the spectrum, through both its digital releases and physical discography additions.

While reflecting upon these past years, we felt that it was time for another go and are releasing the result of that today in the form of our second various artists EP called 'Perspective'! Kidsonic X Piers T - Module

Next up on Delta9 Recordings we welcome SiLi, one of the most talented upcoming artists of 2020. SiLi has been making some moves in the scene recently with scheduled releases on Fokuz and Liquicity so we’re excited to have him on board representing Detla9 Recordings. For D9REC082 he brings us a 4 track EP entitled ‘Tsundoku’ fresh from the dark and rolling corner of Drum & Bass. This release is a Beatport exclusive from 12th June and then available on general release from 26th June 2020.

Starting us off we have ‘Last Descent’, a perfect opening track to the EP that builds beautifully with cybernetic stabs and a low slung bassline working together thoughtfully - one for the heads who like the long blends. ‘Ay Swetch’ is next up and continuing on with the theme of accurate production featuring crazy vocal proccessed samples that float and flutter across the track, dancing in the crowd whilst a war rages under the scorched earth. Following that we have the title track ‘Tsundoku’, the track which will drive you crazy with its immense foghorn and the subby bassline. Finally SiLi brings ‘Just Breath’, again bringing some magic to this EP with details sprinkled throughout this track keeping things interesting and ultimately very vibesy indeed - big up SiLi!

SiLi knows how to intimidate with his music and moves you through a winding journey, continuously switching and rising you up through elevated peaks. It showcases the complexity of SiLi’ engineering, as well as one of the primary aspects of his sound which has enabled his productions to fit so perfectly into the home of Delta9 Recordings.

DJ, producer, sound designer, dedicated perfectionist: Bertran van den Hoff has been honing his tense, moody signature since he first fell in love with the dark designs of late 90s tech-driven underground drum & bass. Committed to the dark art of studio-craft for over a decade, and even longer learning the psychology of the dancefloor and the language of mix alchemy as a DJ; he has played across the world from Fabric London to the Great Wall of China via multiple Noisia Invites appearances. He’s also released music on a wide range of respected, agenda-setting imprints such as Flexout, Noisia's Invisible, Dispatch, Critical Music, and Playaz.

Years of deep fine-tuning. Understanding the science of sonics. Really knowing the sound, textures and grooves he wants to bring into the world… All these things and more have led to a consistency and high benchmark in everything he does.
