The label’s program on LYL Radio returns with a wild contribution courtesy of Manchester-based rapper/producer, Iceboy Violet. I was initially introduced to their work via ‘Drown to Float’, an EP of ambient trap edits of Gunna, lil Baby & Young Thug from 2020 😍 Since then, Violet has consolidated dreamlike sketches into fully-realised and introspective reimaginings of grime, including within a recent album w @nueen on Hyperdub Records & collaborative works with @space-afrika, Emily Glass, @blackhaine, Silkback / @freddymn, @daemondaemon, @aya_yco & more… 

Pinching myself. Truly blown away by this artist & their body of work, I would highly recommend reading interviews with Iceboy on Dazed & Kaput Mag to learn more, as well as listening to this recording. I’ve included snippets of the music - you’ll hear their fascination with sampling, and how much it really slaps. A love mix. HNY to all
