Creative, Steady, Determined.

 This native Chicagoan came of age during the burgeoning local dance music scene in the 1980s. A fast and eager learner of the technical skills of his craft, it has always been his desire to speak to his listeners through musical selections to evoke feelings beyond mere dance floor mayhem; He plays music that makes a difference. 

 In 1998, Elbert was approached by the Giorgio Armani boutique in Chicago to play their annual Christmas Party, at Maxim's de Paris, a posh and private venue on Chicago's fashionable Gold Coast neighborhood to rave reviews. Numerous guest appearances followed, most notably are the Bang The Party Brooklyn/Manhattan events hosted by Lorie Caval and Eman, the Funky Buddah lounge, 2i's (NYC), Sound Bar, Glass (NYC), Sonotheque, Zentra, Transit, Baktun (NYC), the Victor Hotel, the Monkey Club in Paris France, Square One, Transit, the Def Mix Zone (XM Radio channel 80), the grand opening of A/X Armani Exchange in Schaumburg, Illinois and a featured interview on the Ministry of Sound's Mix of Nations television program. In the summer of 2003, Elbert joined respected djs, producers and performance artists for a summer music festival billed as the Sound System Block Party in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood; a wildly popular annual event that brings people together around quality music and art. 

 In 2002, Elbert was commissioned by Frederick Dunson of D/E Entertainment, to play at a birthday celebration for legendary DJ Frankie Knuckles. Frankie was so impressed with Elbert's talents that he granted him the rare and honored privilege to open the evening at D/E's annual July event at the House Of Blues; Elbert would embark on a four year tenure of playing occasional private home gatherings and warming up crowds for the Godfather of House Music! Frankie’s passing was distressing for everyone in the House Music community but, the City of Chicago's Department of Cultural Affairs put together an epic event honoring Frankie's life on June 3rd 2014: Elbert was the first deejay contacted to pay his respects with a heartfelt DJ-set to a crowd of thousands in Millennium Park.  Recently, Elbert has been working on studio production, resulting in the release of his reworking of Rufuss’ “Higher Together” (DJ Elbert’s Dance floor Redux) featured on Qalomota’s Classics Remixed, and "Beacon of Light" featuring spoken word artist Isa Bright Starr, also on Qalomota Records, France. Elbert was also a contributing editor for 5 Magazine Chicago, a monthly publication that covers local, and international house music culture. (www.5chicago.com/djseries/may2007.html) In 2007, Elbert graduated with a design degree from Columbia College Chicago, and was selected by CDM/NFP to create the official logo for "Move: the 2006 Chicago International House Music Festival."With these reputable talents behind him, look for Elbert to gain new levels of experience in the times to come.


JOVONN 

A native of Brooklyn and current resident of Queens (New York), Jovonn has been active in the music scene since the age of 10. Supported by his mother, a keyboard player; and father, a guitar/bass player, who were aspiring R&B singers; he was nurtured with a solid musical foundation. Jovonn began his career as a Hip-Hop DJ at the age of 14 and started spinning records at those infamous New York block parties of the 80s where he was introduced to the growing New York House music scene, hanging out in seminal Brooklyn clubs such as Sapphires, Club Saturn and Club Serene. Year’s later clubs such as The Loft, The Choice, Snobbusters and Zanzibar solidified his full commitment to House music.

Jovonn exploded onto the house scene in 1991 with his second release, “Turn and Runaway” on Warner Bros. Records, which reached number 10 on the Billboard chart and catapulted Jovonn on to the global scene. In addition to being an internationally renowned producer and club DJ, as well as a singer, songwriter and musician, Jovonn, founded his first record label, Goldtone Records, in the early 1990’s via Emotive Records. Since then Jovonn has produced more than 200 records in the House, R&B, Hip-Hop and Neosoul genres, not to mention film scores and soundtracks. But it needs to be said that his true love has always been House music.

Some of Jovonn's house releases include "Old Man Groan", "Jurassic House", "Circle Dance", "He’s More" (feat. Carolyn Harding), "Djoon" (on UK Basic), "Praise" (on WestEnd Records), "Dont Waste Your Time" (feat. Stephanie Cook), "The Spirit" album (on Track Mode), the "Blaque House" album on Code Red as well as famous underground classics such as "Back In the Dark", "Garage Shelter", "I Can't Make Up My Mind", "I Wanna Go To A Club", that all contain Jovonn's distinctive vocal delivery and trademark production with his gritty sounds, hard kicks, jazzy chords and phat basslines.

His latest Dance record label ventures, NextMoov Records and NextMoov Traxx, are dedicated to releasing the hottest deep and raw underground house tracks from Jovonn and his crew of producers and vocalists. Look out for new releases on NextMoov and NextMoov Traxx and not to mention brand new original Jovonn productions and remixes on a whole host of the world’s best house labels.
