Melrose XX is a project began in 2022 by Visual Artist and Engineer Darren Maxwell. The sound of Melrose XX is Influenced by Rock music of the early 1990’s, Psychedelia of the 1970’s, Peter Gabriel, Depeche Mode, and Goth-like music of the 1980s. 
Melrose XX began as an evolution of Maxwell’s previous work under the names Hypec and Kelpie Cavalry (now defunct). Maxwell is a Bassist, Singer, and Rhythm Guitarist in all the songs produced under Melrose XX.
Melrose XX was created to embody the spirit of ancient obscurity, darkness, poetic lyrics, and the effects of social injustice experienced in the span of time after the COVID-19 Pandemic in the United States.
