Master R.Carlos Nakai Flute and vocals, with much respect and in the way to share the love and knowledge in those sacred vibrations.

The other moons stay home as the full moon rises and sways, following the movement of the flute. The simple small gathering must last all night, so the flautist plays “night custodian,” keeping the moon charmed by blowing off two-inch strings of melody through a double barrel (one barrel in front of the other). Among the handful that have gathered: one claps, one taps foot, two more play cabasa and clave; all keep time for the flautist; the moment the flautist ceases, the moon will sink into the swamp.

I am lost for words on how incredible the vibe and feeling was at the Beach Club stage on Sunday afternoon at Strawberry Fields. I've been collecting a bunch of music with the intention of creating a psychedelic cosmic voodoo beach party vibe and I hope that translated into the set. 

The mighty Murray River really has a special power, its the life force & energy of Australia. I spent a lot of my childhood fishing and swimming on the banks of the river and to be given an opportunity to present my music & craftsmanship in the same environment was truly inspiring.                                                                 Special thanks to Tara, Billy & Elliot for this opportunity. 

Although we had a couple of generator issues I managed to piece together 2hrs out of the 3 of the live recordings. Enjoy

In order to move, you have to let go. Elveda, which means farewell in Turkish, is one of our most painful experiences in life. To lose a loved one is what we all have to go through along the way. Nothing stays the same, everything changes. Hope and faith give us the power to move on and the reason to proceed on our journey. Our past is the soil out of which we grow, heaven is our future which caresses and nourishes us, the tree of life is our existence in the present.
Through Elveda, TIKK the brotherhood tries to express their feelings about leaving the past behind and going on in the circle of life and death. Nobody knows where we come from nor where our journey is taking us. But the awareness of the finite makes us cherish the moment and all the beautiful things in life which surround us. And what we bear in our hearts can never be lost.

It was a very special moment when our Brazilian friend and artist Ygor Marotta AKA VJ SUAVE shared his music with us for the first time. Marotta, best known the founder of the multi-disciplinary duo VJ Suave and as a member of the beloved Voodoohop family, joins Bahia based producer Bela Amado AKA Irû & fellow São Paulo bassist Tomás Xavier to present their new project Pássaro (Bird).

The trio’s debut EP Pássaro Encantado (Enchanted Bird) was recorded during a three day jamming session in Marotta’s Sao Paulo studio. It sounds is like a psychedelic tropical hike, a mysterious and enchanting journey into VJ Suave’s world, at once captivating but experimental, pop and psychedelic, natural and synthesized. Brazilian traditional influences sit alongside with wobbling electronic flutes, spaced out synths and Xavier’s freeform bass guitar. The five tracks are in the order that they were created: the energy and unique moment of those jam sessions at Marotta’s studio is printed perfectly onto the soul of this music.

Recorded by PÁSSARO at VJ Suave´s studio, between April 30th and May 2nd, 2019 in São Paulo.
