First part of this conceptual double EP by Eric Fetcher. "Krell lab" is a full journey into a deep interpretation of the evergreen basic of techno by one of the most solid techno producers. His sound is accurate in every detail, a mix of past, present, future... high level of techno!

@raiders_records has presented something really special here.  While we absolutely love this track by @jpeglove, we must emphasize that this entire 2-volume release is a top notch pivotal endeavor highlighting a nascent shift toward club culture being ruled more firmly under the female sphere.  

'Queens of Club' pays tribute to 'Queens of Baltimore', an early Bmore Club 12” from 2001 featuring recorded vocals by: Mz. Thang, Kotton the Cutie and Lady Shaunda.  (Side note:  Posse Up tried to contact these artists recently, if anyone knows how to reach them please let us know!).  

While 'Queens of Baltimore' put the women at the forefront, it was still distributed and produced by men.  Raider’s' 'Queens of Club' pays tribute to this early achievement while simultaneously 1UP’ing it as a project that is completely produced and managed by women.  The stereotype that producing is a man’s domain can be put to feckin rest as is a testament of the quality of this endeavor.      

While this follows the tradition of pioneering female producers – least we forget about Kemistry and Storm who co-founded Metalheadz, not to mention DJ Rap – it also serves as a reminder – since the very fact that such a project remains a rarity in 2020 mans that there is still werk 2 do.  

Posse Up salutes and welcomes female producers, label owners, deejays, and emcees.  We feel strongly that music is multi-dimensional, and that added depth is desperately needed, whether that's grounded in gender, sex, ethnicity, culture, social status or entire MF’ing species (yo shouts out to the extraterrestrial transgendered).  The more depth the better, especially in club genres that exhibit raw sexuality, such as: bmore / jersey club, miami bass, ghetto tech, ghetto house, vogue, etc., or music inspired by these genres.

Listening to Linja’s debut LP makes one think of Polish director Yuri Norstein’s gloomy melancholic (yet playful) movies, or perhaps just of a rainy day, or Chopin.

Velvet Noise is a collection of 7 experimental pieces made by Linja sometime around 2016-2017, using drum ma- chines and a lot of modular synthesisers.
The album is woven with Simple melodies that crack through the squeaks and the bleeps, eery pads that fill the voids all sorts of FX.
The atmosphere becomes filled with tension when it is playing in the room, as if something is clearly about to happen.

Linja’s album is not so easy to describe, and yet due to its coherence and storytelling it has a certain feel and per- sonality of a good book rather than just a record.
“It transcends its existence as a record”.

Codeword welcomes In Half Light (aka Michael Wells), the Berlin-based London-born DJ, producer and label boss of Weekend Circuit. In Half Light has recently released music on In Silent Series, Metempsychosis Records and his own Weekend Circuit label, including a collaboration with Ossa Di Mare and with remixes from Lucy and SHXCXCHCXSH. In Half Light is also due to release a track on UVB-76 early next year and is working on his first solo EP. As label boss, Wells has released music from the likes of P.E.A.R.L., Kwartz, YYYY, Alfredo Mazzilli and Pär Grindvik. As a DJ, Michael Wells/ In Half Light has played regularly at Corsica Studios, Tresor, Griessmuehle as well as in Tbilisi, Amsterdam, Bogota and Buenos Aires. In Half Light’s mix for Codeword on Threads Radio is a rolling, hypnotic, dance-floor-focused stomper with intensity, depth and groove.

Madalba was born in July 1985 in Bari, south of Italy. From a very young age, her musical interests moved across a broad spectrum, going from house and dance music to rock and punk leading her lastly to techno and club-culture. 

At age 22 she approached the local scene as Djane with numerous performances in the club circuit of Bari. Through the years she has developed a continued and careful respect of the musical experience. She moved to Berlin in 2011 and started DJing with only vinyl records. This helped her to build a strong reputation as an underground techno DJ, providing opportunity for her to play in clubs such as Tresor, About Blank, SchwuZ, SO36 and Mikz in Berlin where she lives today. 

In September 2011, she moved to Detroit where she started the collaboration with DJ Seoul, Tom and Angie Linder of Detroit Techno Militia. This travel has definitely and radically changed her approach to the techno concept, which she considers more a political and social phenomenon and a lifestyle than just a musical genre.

From 2012 till 2016 she joined the party Homopatik as resident dj.

Her first releases on vinyl came out in 2014 on DTM-Label (Detroit) and Arkita Records (Berlin), the label that she spawned together with Synkopheit till 2016. 

In 2017 she launched her own record label Future Déjà Vu releasing 5 EP respectively by Transient X4, Ken Karter, Mannella a.k.a. DHARAXT, Phontonz & Shcuro, Rage Therapy.

In September 2017 she played her first house set for the summer closing of the Berlin based party Buttons. 

In Summer 2018 Madalba became resident dj at the historical club Tresor in Berlin. The same year she collaborated with the London based crew Aria with a party series in the UK capital. 

Currently, she is techno resident dj and co-organizer of the party Buttons in About Blank teaming with Danilo Rosato, Anna Bolena, Jabob Meehan, Shingo Suwa, Akirahawks, Paolo Di Nola and Stanley Schmidt. 

Since 2019 she is part of the roster of Pullproxy.
