Gliding in through the Deutsche bass-biome, we gladly present label newcomer, @genus-aix (aka Jost Wessel). Welding true to the INDEX:essence™, “Heavy Metal, Solid State” is a spectrum of sonic winds. Migrating across 5 low-end rifters, Wessel sound-designs a liquefaction of moods that weave in and out of various textures and inspirations. The result is a shimmering dramaturgy that has the feel of a well plotted mini-album — a start-to-finish 'xperience and a fledgling tease into the talents of Genus Aix.

The final katharsis release of 2024 is the 26-track compilation “Physical Force” featuring a wide range of affiliated artists from both the international and local Copenhagen electronic music scene. As the title hints, Physical Force delves into the visceral, bodily aspects of music, inviting its contributors to explore the theme of movement as a central element in their compositions. Each artist was encouraged to focus on rhythm, groove, energy, and the physicality of sound, which resulted in drum-heavy release from start to finish. While there is a consistent emphasis on rhythm and a bodily connection to the music, the tracks vary widely in style and sonic texture, ranging from big melodic anthems, gritty experimental techno, heavy jungle bangers, and beyond.

Danny Wabbit returns to the forefront with Manic, a carefully crafted five track EP that serves as a visceral journey through the psychological spectrum of the dancefloor.

The EP opens with the unexpected: 'Fear Is Nothing But A Tool', a cinematic dubstep intro to set a dark, preparatory tone. It then ignites with the title track 'Manic', a hypnotic and powerful techno cut built to induce peak-time frenzy.

Stripping techno back to its raw essence, 'Severed' delivers a minimalist homage to the genre's warehouse roots. This raw intensity then gives way to the meditative groove of 'Breath Work', a track centered on calming, pulsating rhythms. The EP closes with the soulful and uplifting vibes of 'That One House Track', the perfect euphoric finale to a long night.
