The Estonian house DJ and producer Taavi Tuisk drops a two tracker for Steve Bug’s irrepressible Poker Flat Recordings. 

Taavi has been making, releasing and promoting music for almost 2 decades, and here we get to feel something of his playful approach to dance music. 

Being an audio production and multimedia lecturer at Tallinn University he could also easily have a doctor degree in DJ-ing, producing and nightlife developing. 

Taavi has been a DJ for more than half of his life and played all over the world - Spain, UK, Germany, Brazil, South Africa, USA etc. Performing at superclubs like Ministry Of Sound, Pacha and Space but also at small cozy underground venues in South Africa. He’s also founder of two open air summer clubs in Tallinn.

Taavi has been producing music since 2003 using different artist names and won the EMA (Estonian Music Award) in 2017 for the best electronic music album.

Taavi only started to release new music under his real name two years ago on labels like A Tribe Called Kotori, Beatfreak, Sudam, Exotic Refreshment, Switchlab and more. 

It’s all about a mixture of synthetic and atmospheric sounds together with ethnic motives and strong percussive grooves, he also brings live element in the form of electronic drums and synths to spice up his live dj gigs.

The title track of Incroyable is a deep house track with tons of cosmic disco attitude - bright sparking synths and shuffling grooves. What's more it features an outstanding spoken word vocal in French.

Also included is a rework by Mihai Popoviciu, a Poker Flat regular who turns in a tougher tech house version that's the perfect compliment to the original. All in all an unmissable release set to go over big with a lot of DJs and their dancefloors.

John Graham, better known as Quivver, and fellow collaborator Dave Seaman have careers spanning over decades in house music. Each has helped define the trajectory of the culture and continue to build on their stellar reputations. 

With this release on Steve Bug’s Poker Flat Recordings, the pair demonstrate some of the key traits that have marked their careers - beautifully crafted, euphoric electronic music designed for the dance floor. 

Rockets & Rainbows features Brianna Price on vocals and is a deep, moody groover. RISE resident Floyd Lavine reworks the track also on this release, adding a bubbling, off-kilter acidic edge. 

Last up is Not This Time - a tough, funky roller with a juicy disco vocal sample.

'Since it's inception True Romance has consistently beamed balmy releases across jubilant dance floors and has acted as a platform for both established and auspicious artists. Next up is a single from Tulsa based DJ and producer: HeartWerk. Tagged as 'Moody House From Someone Who Cares', HeartWerk holds down a radio show at Vandelay and has a solid slew of floor fillers under his belt. His latest offering 'Tulsa In The House' evinces his sounds accurately as it packs a solid punch while remaining heady, emotive and full of soul.

'Celluloid' lays prickly 808 hats over an 80s sawtooth while spectral pads glide over head. Toms, claps and twinkling synths all intertwine as the track swirls along. 'Tropicaliente' then follows up with a potent, no nonsense House groove. Filtered stabs, irresistible bongos and delayed brass flashes pepper a vibe that is guaranteed to do damage on the floor. The title track then brings things to a conclusion with a straight up Chicago- tinged banger. Sharp 909s, vocal snips and
a hypnotising synth line work to capture a pure but hedonistic jam - one that sits neatly into the True Romance catalogue.'

This is the splendid deep follow up EP by our favorite Liverpool artist Petals In Sound. After her great label debut last summer where she already showed us her wonderful atmospheric electronic sound, she now continues on a journey through that same spaced- out house territory. “Dial Tone” and “Lush” are both laid back groovers that sooth every dancefloor and are perfect late, or better, early hours tunes to steer dancers gently towards sunrise and out of smoke filled clubs, homewards with warm musical memories of a danced and spaced out night.
“The Sea and Everything in It” is a personal fave here as it combines great percussive rhythms with her unique style, arpeggios and dark synths electronica, deep like a warm spring day. The outdoor raves will be a perfect setting for this one! Last we asked our other new label member Pete Bandit from Berlin to remix “Lush”. With his own debut “Wild Feelings” he already set the tone showcasing his expert percussive and driving house sound. Here again he turned the original into a loopy “New York House” style jam with cool funky drums that fit in perfectly with the other tracks and make this whole EP a tight and delightful package.
