Yes I know this is technically not drum and bass at 158 BPM. But when you start increasing the speed all kind of things start breaking: String arpeggios, drum transients, sample timings, not even mentioning the time stretching artifacts on the vocals.

I made this because I was salty about the fact the vocals didn't isolate properly.

The concept was inspired by the OST for Tales of Graces. In the game, the opening theme makes a reappearance at the very end during the credit sequence, as a (really good) swing arrangement. I tried capturing a similar vibe with this track.

What started out as a spontaneous bootleg session about half a year ago turned into one of my most professional sounding mixes thus far. I spent way too much time fiddling with the balance and making macro-mixing adjustments. Turns out, having a big lead sound and a vocal track that occupy the same space in the spectrum makes things a lot harder than they need to be. I kinda get why people generally don't do that now. But I like it, was definitely worth the extra effort.
Dropping this today just before I need to get back to doing exams so that I won't forget about it before heading off on vacation. Also just kinda want to be done with it now and move on to something new.

SoundCloud absolutely mangled the quality on this one, sorry about that. Unfortunately there is not much I can do about it.
