Lexx has a worked in record shops for close to twenty years, produced records since the late 90’s and played in clubs on a regular basis. He run’s his own label and is a passionate music enthusiast to this very day. Josh, one part of the bubblegum crew, has got to have one of the most unbelievably deep collections going. Tuning in to his instagram is a guaranteed ticket to drool central. Those hip to the Dublin scene have probably caught him at the infamous audiophile spot Hang-Dai. Outside of this bubble though, this cat keeps a very low online profile. That is why I am immensely excited and privileged to share a truly nuts first extended session from the turntables of his home.

Mix of the Week #501: Loveshadow

Seasons greetings! We're closing out 2024 with a selector that perhaps needs no further introduction, but in case you've been living under a rock for the past 15 years, we are extremely excited to present the next Idle Cellars mix by the one and only EDDIE C! Mr. C (NOT THAT ONE) is, in our esteemed opinion, one of the best DJ's in the entire world and we're crazy stoked to have him as the next IC mix for your listening pleasure. Canada-born & Berlin-bred, Eddie has been gallivanting all over the globe as a musical expert in a world of tourists, ready to spread good vibes and his sparkling personality (plus that Canadian politeness we always hear about) to the four corners of the planet. 

His resume is, frankly, ridiculous. As a producer and "editor", Eddie is responsible for countless fantastic releases across disco edit labels like his own RED MOTORBIKE, COMMON EDIT, 7 INCHES OF LOVE, KOLOUR LTD, SLEAZY BEATS, LUMBERJACKS IN HELL and many, many more, plus he's been fully embraced by the Japanese contingent with many releases on MULE sublabel ENDLESS FLIGHT as well as CRUE-L & SOUNDOFSPEED. The man's discography as a producer is as wide as it is deep and he continues to be extremely active with new remixes or originals coming out regularly.

DJ-wise our boy has the chops to be dropped into any situation and rock the party, whether that's at Cafe Del Mar, Panoramabar, the Sunset Campout or dodgy mafia-run nightclubs in deepest Eastern Europe. To put it succinctly, he is...THE MAN. 

We think Eddie C is a perfect closer to our year. Here at CR HQ we’ve been long time listeners and admirers of Zurich based, Kejeblos and we’re gassed to have him join our ongoing mix series. 

Kejeblos is a man of big taste and big ears that leaps through sounds from all around the globe.

A protegé of Lexx and Alex Dallas from Club Zukunft and Drumpoet Community, Kejeblos belongs to that invincible circle of friends, whose members CCO, Wavetest and Late Invitation are doing the wickedest Chicago House in Liechtenstein, sorry, Switzerland.

Some little treats await you as you press play, with two newbie tunes… one from Palace Pasador’s forthcoming release on Phantom Island and the other from Lexx’s new LP about to drop on the label.

Crown Ruler Mix #33 - Kejeblos

What up IC cru! Been a minute - how you been? We took a little break to let that last mix marinate but we’re back with another for your discerning pleasure. This time around we’re excited to showcase a real UK OG who has been active in various guises over the years, flying the Balearic flag as a DJ, producer and connoisseur of fine choons in The Main Stem circa 2010 and lately with Midlands trio Wrekin Havoc, whose edits and original productions - both of which blur the lines of what is what - have been on rotation in my bag since they first stepped on the scene a few years ago. It’s Rob.J! Robert to his mum, when not up into the wee hours pushing rare track rips to his friends via online chat like some kind of strange drug dealer with incredible taste, has been hard at work with his WH mates Stu & Rich, working on new music seemingly nonstop and blowing minds at last year’s Rotation festival in the English countryside. 

Rob is truly taking us on a Balearic journey with heaps of impossibly rare tunes that sound like they were beamed from the White Island telepathically, mixed by the seat of his pants over a whopping 150 minute mix! Obscure 80s pop gems meeting late-decade dance music head-on, 90s breakbeats, Italo cheese, Spanish vocals dancing with guitar licks - one could be forgiven to think this was recorded poolside at Ku in ‘88!

Big thanks to Rob for contributing such an epic mix, we hope you love it like we do. May it soundtrack your Spring & Summer!
