We’re big fans of Hot Since 82 and have supported & enjoyed his music from the ‘Let It Ride’ days. In addition to that, we’re also massive fans of Goldtrix and one of our favourite Dance tracks of all time is ‘It’s Love (Trippin’)’ Feat. Andrea Brown.

When Hot Since 82 released ‘Buggin’’ back in 2018, we were blown away with how great the track was, and how he had used elements of ‘It’s Love (Trippin)’. We’ve always said it would be a dream to remix both tracks, so when Hot Since 82 announced his competition to remix ‘Buggin’, it was a no brainer to get in the studio & put our take on it!

We initially planned to make something that was more of a throwback to ‘It’s Love (Trippin’)’: something with a late 90s/early 00s electronic/dance feel. After a bit of backing and forthing, we then decided to make something deeper and darker, which we also felt would suit Jem Cooke’s amazing vocal and fit perfectly on the Knee Deep In Sound Label. The vision for our remix was for it to sit somewhere in between the two records whilst putting our stamp on it…which is exactly what we think we’ve achieved!

Landing through Champion Records on 31st May is a sublime remix package of OT Quartet’s classic ‘Hold That Sucker Down’. Stepping up to deliver reworks are Cera Alba, Damien Hall, Alex Van Alff, StoneBridge and Bruno Kauffmann. 

Cera Alba’s Terrace rework is up first, taking down the intensity of the original and providing a groove-laden house beat. Damien Hall introduces some shuffling drum patterns whilst Alex Van Alff keeps his version bouncing and up-tempo. StoneBridge keeps to a progressive techno theme that is interspersed with vibrant piano chords and Bruno Kauffman rounds off the EP in suitably driving style, really drawing out the powerful vocals. 

This unmissable remix collection highlights the true caliber of the original, co-written by Faithless’ Rollo Armstrong, whilst giving each artist the chance to shine with their own take on it.

Since the late 90's, Spiritchaser have remained consistent as one of dance music's leading partnerships. They have not only embraced the changing face of the music industry but also played a part in the shaping of modern house music with their unique style and combination of song and sound.

In 2005, their spiritual home Guess Records was launched and a new chapter was underway. Sister label to the successful Duffnote and One51 imprints, Guess provided a new platform for them to fine-tune their musical aspirations and the Spiritchaser sound. Their debut album "1440" introduced the beginnings of a collaboration with vocalist Emily Cook and Daniel Jones (Est8) which in 2011, took South Africa by storm with the smash hit "These Tears" topping the charts for 9 weeks and continued for some 38 weeks in the Media Guide top 10. This partnership further resulted in the album "Tears in the rain" which was released in South Africa in 2012. 

"Chronos" encapsulates the years passed and present and with a combination of some old favourites, exclusive new material, un-released mixes and re-edits giving the concept of a "best of" album a real twist. 

"It's been almost 14 years since we lay the first note down on our first project and what a journey it's been so far. The way we create and consume music has changed dramatically over the last few years and so to be here showcasing some of our chosen moments to date, is down to you guys and the industry that has provided the opportunities for us.
