Soma affiliate Franco Rossi returns to the label with his first fully realised release with the superbly produced, Orbiter Dicta EP. Having first released as part of the remix competition on Slam’s  ‘Exhibit’ series to contributing to the ‘SOMA NEU’ VA releases, Franco immediately impressed with his tactical and expertly crafted sound. This latest release sees him drop a 5 track EP, filled with hard hitting percussive elements based around deep and grooving techno.

The question is simple: what, precisely, is the “before”? Is it a beginning, a precursor, a shrug of inevitability? Or is it just a cheeky way for time to tell us it has no clue either? 

When “before” feels like it is about to deliver a profound statement. It never does, of course, but the anticipation is half the fun. Midway through though the realisation hits that you already left the before and are now undeniably heading towards the after. Each moment making you second-guess what you just thought. Might this actually be the middle? Or just another before?

"Before the After" doesn’t solve the riddle it poses—it revels in it. This is for those who enjoy pondering the infinite while lost in the pulse of the present in a speed 42 BPMs less than you thought. After all, what’s the rush? And after the fact, it features a stellar remix by none other than Arjun Vagale.
