Frenetik 101 is from Manchester based DJ, Ben Moulson aka April who has firmly rooted himself in the northern scene with his hyperactive crate digging habits and diversity in sound. Whether it the 10pm ambient hour, or the 6am sweat box his record bag will answer the call.

April’s flexibility behind the decks has comfortably positioned him on an array of lineups across the North of England + beyond. With appearances at firm favourites such as Meat Free, The Warehouse Project, Wire Presents, Foundry, Tiriba & more.

Outside of DJing, April co-pilots Chorus, a local party focussed on collaboration and ‘diversifying your sonic palate’. What started as a techno focussed party now acts as a petri-dish for experimentation that evolves in synergy with Aprils flavours. Adding to the output, April recently launched a vinyl only jungle night, with local selector Esmé, where their attention focuses on the more soulful side of the sound, championing legends of the scene alongside up and coming talent.

Kicking off 2025 for us is Switzerland and Berlin Resident, DJ Sun. With musician parents, the connection to music has always been present. His journey began when he discovered the world of illegals rave parties in 2015 where electronic music reigned supreme. Fascinated by their organization, DJ Sun quickly decided to venture into organizing his own illegals raves, which led to the founding of the OTIUM collective in 2018. Over time, he honed his DJ skills, specializing in old-school techno infused with influences from hip hop, jazz, and house.

Beyond his DJ performances, he has also delved into VJing projects, leveraging his videography skills. For the past four years, he has been creating his own compositions to add a more personal touch to his DJ sets. The creation of his own label, OTIUM Records, in collaboration with his best friend Rødig, has been one of the highlights of his artistic journey. DJ Sun’s universe stands out with a commitment to quality over quantity,
focusing on creating his first EP in 2024 that will reflect an authentic artistic approach. Looking ahead, DJ Sun’s project aims to create an A/V show entirely controlled by machines on stage. This complementary project is more festival-oriented, providing a more «touring» aspect compared to the clubbing/
rave element of a DJ set.

We bring Patrik Carrera to our team, starting our relationship with this Inevitable Decay EP. The australian born , Berlin based producer, offers four slices of modern techno, balancing aggression with hypnosis along four cuts.

Standing Fog uses a mega distorted kick and resonant hypnotic bleeps on top, reminding the old X 102 feeling. No remorse in this track, straight to the point madness.

Altered Form relies on a complex groove, with asymmetrical components and heavily texturized, the main synth line goes on forever while different elements go back and forth. The rythm grows in intensity on the final moments, adding distortion and dirtiness.

Liquid Toil goes hyperspace, abstract sinoidal sequences float over an opaque groove that is soon filled with shuffled 909 hats and scifi textures. Jeff Mills will love this one.

Influx puts the eye in old Birmimgham tools, with a reverberated repetitive sequence over a shuffled beat, things move just a bit, keeping the pace linear and obsessive making a superb mixing tool.

A diverse EP with a personal approach to intelligent dance territories, music that could be from 10 years after today, from the future.
