This my new single ‘Why?’ feat. Spoonface. It blends 808 Bass music with dubbed out funkadelica, creating a sweet melodic but full frequency jam that reaches for the heart as well as the feet. It features the haunting vocals of my good mate MC Spoonface from the UK, full of longing and loss. ‘Why’ contemplates the inexplicable nature of humankind and why we do what we do to each other, a theme more explicitly rendered in the hard hitting artwork which was a collab with the awesome Tryga Design. I was in 2 minds as to whether to go down this route but I believe the dialogue it will generate is more important than any confusion or controversy that might come about because of it. 

The person in the picture is a real person with a family just like you and me and some how ended up being tortured by non military members of hired private armies fighting 'on behalf' of the the American people. No trial, no due process of law. And for what? For who? Why?

I am beyond happy and grateful. Yall know the lore! I started out playing music in my kitchen as a means to heal from some tribulations and I had no idea that it would lead me into all of the places and spaces I have found myself in. I am truly appreciative of everyone who has believed in me and has shown me support for this musical adventure. 

Drum and Bass has played a huge roll in my life. I would not be the person I am today if I didn't discover these sounds. I hope you enjoy this mix and I also hope that I will see some of you guys down there!

UK band Killaflaw hit me up and asked me if I had anything to add to their 'Milk and Whiskey' single and I was more than happy to oblige. I added a cheeky dash of trap music stylings, mixed a splash of freshly squeezed crunk into the bluesy lead vocal, and then poured the whole thing all over a wash of 808 kick drum, which gives the impression of a cybernetic Robert Johnson emoting his longing to have his oil changed by HAL from 2001: A Space Odyssey. I hope you like.
