MCL1: Mr.C Loves... Eddie Richards

It all started for me as a young kid who loved music & came from a musical family, mainly my mum giving me influences from Motown & Disco - mum who was well known for her Rock & Roll dancing skills my Dad R.I.P even though we weren't close his music lives on in me , being the man who brought "Battle of the bands" in Portsmouth and being partner with his music manager friend discovered and managed the famous British band "Duran Duran" briefly before handing them souly over to his partner they hit the big time!! So yes very into music from a very young age , I mean I think the very 1st Album I brought as kid was "Thriller" who didn't like MJ  bk in the 80s, I also loved Pink Floyd, Kraft work , UB40 , Bob Marley , Maddness!! Then herd "White Lines" not actually knowing what the words were actually about lol!! Anyway hearing Lil Louise "French Kiss" ( still love playing that to this day) I was hooked on dance music from this point on '89' the golden age of British Rave scene at 14yrs old bought my 1st Deck , belt driven Soundlab, my best mate Simon Barter had 1 deck and a mixer, so we shared the set and built up a very impressive collection of vinyl, my 1st 12inch being from "The Orb" - "A huge pulsating brain deep within the universe" something along them lines lol , very long title !! Well to cut a story short as youngsters we used to Play at what we call nappy nights ( under 18s ) where along with my beautiful friend Lee Gibbs we had big crowds turning up!! I'd have to say best and favourite moment from my under 18 club nights was doing the warm up set for the man like "Carl Cox " who after my short 30min set before him patted me on the back and said "awsome keep it up son" and so I did, have had the pleasure of sharing sets with so many famous and amazing DJs/Producer's over the yrs! Then things went abit pair shaped in the early 2000s of had addiction problems 🙃 but concered my demons not in no way easily took me away from the scene so getting bk into it all again in 2012 - WOW the digital age , I was lost , when I left the scene it was putting the needle on the record then gettingvmy head around the change in Technology ( still am  😆 ) but yeah homed in on my craft again, learning how to use the digital gear which now I think is absolutely awsome but was still a vinyl turntable list in my head and thought for yrs  - nah these digital CD decks and then the controllers came out I was very sinercal of it being the same , boy was I wrong- I'm more in love with my art then ever before, got a great circle of true friends and DJs around me, 1 being an idol to me for many yrs and grateful 🙏 he's opened his arms to me Michael Wearn aka the Legendary South Coast DJ "Groover Washington " amazing person amazing DJ very respected in the house music community gave me a big chance last Yr in March 2022 to play at his night which is famous in the South Coast Portsmouth's best true Underground feeling nights called " SOUTHERN EXPOSURE " where he put me on a major big night with Colin Dale, Brandon Block, Ricky Morrison, Terry Francis and himself Groover Washington with Residents Junior Gee and Andy Mason!! These nights have allways been special to me now even more as I'm considered to be part of the SE family and am booked to play again this October, so yes I think this sums it up for me , il allways consider Michael Wearn & Co to be my family and will be team Southern Exposure for life!!
