Groove Mechanics Collecive Ep.1 (Brian Trent)

Born and raised in Alaska - moved to Montana in 2003. I’ve been DJing in Bozeman and all over Montana for just over a decade. Proud member of the notorious techno collective known as the Fox Den since its inception. I’ve held half a dozen weekly and monthly DJ residencies at bars and venues in Bozeman over the years, including PULSE night at the Zebra, Sessions at Colonel Blacks, and most recently hosted a couple of infamous private techno parties under the brand Sub-Rosa. I’ve also played many sets at some of the biggest Montana festivals and events including: The Pirate Party, Neon City, Shine, Fairy Tale, Foxxy Fridays, I’ll House You, Montana Magic, and Disco Bloodbath. In 2012 I went to Burning Man and was fortunate enough to get to play sets at a couple different sound camps as well. 
My sound has evolved and progressed over the years, but I’ve always found myself irresistibly drawn to music that invokes darker 80’s sci-fi nostalgia. My sets typically straddle the line between techno, next-wave, post-punk, and melodic space vibes - or to put it more succinctly, dark-disco. While I strive for a particular sound, I’m much more interested in crafting a journey that tells a story from start to finish.
