I've decided to clean up my playlists a little bit, so i'll start a playlist series for myself (and others) called "zirmada loves" it will be geared toward specific styles, genres, and artists. volumes will contain 15 - 20 tracks. these lists are not sponsored, nor can you buy the music from anywhere aside from their artist's respective sites, itunes, beatport, and other purchasing sites. this is simply a list of tracks i like from this type of music. enjoy.
   the first chill and ambient volume contains 15 tracks, all have a very relaxed vibe to them, the energy may change in certain parts of each individual track , but the overall track must be relaxed volumes will always be up for revision unless i say so, suggestions are very welcome.
     i love to hear new music, so don't be afraid to shoot some my way. :)

Solid Steel (22nd November) The Amorphous Androgynous (aka The Future Sound of London) grace us with a selection of tracks and inspirations from their newly released albums, 'The Cartel' vol, 1&2. Based around the theme of 'Psychesploitation' - a mix of funky 70's cop soundtracks and fuzzed up Blacksploitation flicks - it's the sound of Get Carter's swinging London and the sleazy San Francisco of Dirty Harry. DJ Food takes us down a dark, synthetic future route full of esoteric pieces more at home in sci-fi soundtracks and public information films. After Armin’s new single ‘Hystereo’ entered the Dutch iTunes single charts at the #1 position, it went on to conquer dance floors around the world. Never one to rest on his laurels, Armin gave 3 different artists the chance to remix the tune, taking the song in wildly different directions. Heatbeat brought their signature progressive and heavy hitting sound to the song, while Thomas Vink brought the tempo down and turned up the subs. Armin van Buuren - Hystereo (KhoMha Remix) [A State Of Trance Episode 683] [OUT NOW!]

As with many labels, Berlin's Lucidflow started as an outlet for Nadja Lind and Helmut Ebritsch's output, both as solo artists and collaboratively as Klartraum. Over time a selection of peers have been invited into the circle, all nurtured in a climate of collaboration. This next release on Lucidflow marks a significant step, seeing the first artist album to be released that has not come from the creative zest of the label heads.

Enrico Regini, or Riccicomoto, has been hosting a weekly show on Ibiza Global Radio since 2007. Although he hails from the famed white isle, his sonic palette is highly attuned to the Lucidflow aesthetic. While a majority of the album sees that sharp and dubby club vibe worked in exemplary style, there is a thoughtful downtempo edge on show that touches on jazz, soul, funk and dub. Bisonic rather than bipolar.
The most atmospheric of these is ‘Ataraxie’, a track that was used in the film ‘Friedlich In Die Katastrophe’ [or Quietly Into Disaster], a luscious piece that takes in both orchestral and jazzy textures, suiting the widescreen nature of film perfectly. Also of note is ‘Only’, the lead up single that is already out there and available. Featuring Silvia Bollnow on vocals, it exudes smokey languid jazz. There is also a dub heavy slant to the downtempo tracks; ‘Area 51’ teams it up with scifi strings, title track ‘Porn Fiction’ weaves exotic Middle Eastern threads through the Jamaican vibes in an unexpected yet complementary fashion!, and ‘In The Mood’ hits dips back to the seventies to create an unusual soundclash against the more contemporary ambient house theme. Regini's ability to switch it into Lucidflow's dubprog template, ‘Shadows And Lights’ is an emphatic and trippy rumbler with a big payoff at the break, while ‘Holometabol’ walks the line between lightness and dark with sharp edged beats cutting through the muted atmosphere. ‘Natwalk Dub’ drifts into a scowling and dour mood, only to be drawn back into melancholic reflection via ‘We Feel Too Little’.
