This track is dedicated to my late brother Chandru, whose passing in 1999 birthed tracks 3 and 4 of this album.

The most fundamental answer has to do with light itself, which the Gayatri mantra is invoking. Light is an important element because of the power it was over darkness. ... Gayatri Mantra is about bringing light into the mind to dispel darkness, which is to say negative energy fields and unconscious patterns.

"Spiritus" -an eclectic eastern and western collaboration and musical and vocal fusion, between Mohini Chatlani and Rajesh David. An album of inspiring, melodious Sacred Sanskrit chants, with orchestrations spanning Indian, traditionaland western influences.

The song is part two of Debris Discs' hope and survival audio triptych, following ‘Daniel and the Apocalypse’ released earlier in the year. This time around the tempo is notched up with driving bass, bouncing beats and rousing choruses, tempered by woozy synths, twisted guitars and washed-out harmonics. The result is a disorientating slice of sonic reverie.

Inspired by a visit to Debris Discs' grandparent’s memorial bench on a windswept day on the North West English coast, We Never Die is an attempt to find comfort in the despair of loss. It tells the story of lifetime lovers so entwined they reach their end of days in tandem. They search for solace in the legacy they leave behind and a love that burns in perpetuity. It’s a message to each other and their families that this is not the end. There are no goodbyes.

Spring anthem ‘Snowdrops and Me’ by Fran Wyburn from her debut album ‘Wood for the Trees’ (produced by Dan Webster) was written after a ‘spring cleaning frenzy’ and looking out from the ‘kitchen sink’ at the snowdrops rising through the wintery garden. The song is very much a hypnotic waltz between Fran’s souring and ethereal vocals and her friend and collaborator George Birketts delicate and bewitching guitar playing.
