In The Garden

A breath of fresh ‘Eire’, this celtic infused electronic pop song is based on the Northern Irish folk story of The Witches Stone. Bathed in atmospheric soundscapes, emotive vocals, harp riffs and earthy drums, the track rises and swells - just like the sea by the mystical coastlines of Islandmagee Co.Antrim, on which the song is based.

Entre fines de los 80 y cominezo de los 90 atravesamos como nación nuestra peor crisis de violencia, pobreza y descomposición social.

Es durante estos años que la música se convirtió en nuestro refugio más seguro y el medio que nos permitió plasmar las reflexiones que nos planteábamos. Estas estaban dirigidas a la búsqueda de respuestas a los orígenes de los problemas que atravesávamos. Uno de los problemas que ha influenciado mucho este trabajo y que nos persigue desde la época de la Conquista, radica que nunca nos hemos sobrepuesto a este choque de culturas que está latente dentro de nosotros.

Pos Virú se forma a cominezos de 1990 cuando la crisis llega a su puntomás crítico. El albúm contiene 11 temas compuestos entre los años 1990 y 1995 que contienen elementos musicales que no sólo expresan este conflicto cultural, sino también aspectos puntuales de conyuntura, como violencia, frustración, odio, paz, miedo y esperanza.

Echoes Of Aphelion - The Sweetest Thing

Tribal Man was inspired by a fantasy of being truly happy whilst living with nature (and not exploiting it). This song acts as a self-reminder, of my own aspirations to nurture and to build a space where nature is thriving around me. I do tend to dream big!! Right now I am adjusting my way of living taking little steps to start this path. 

The reason for this song, or should I say the moment of realisation towards this way of life began when I was at a breaking point in my life. 
So....I spent time in some woodlands near my home and sat on the grass in serene silence. All I could hear was the stream, the birds, and the wind. I felt that everything I had been carrying in my mind for the last several months had been lifted. 

This song was a spontaneous piece created in the year 2016 but over the years it has grown into the song it is today. Performing this song live has had such an uplifting experience creating a very relaxing vibe in a world that's filled with overwhelming anxious thoughts. 

The song has several messages within it depending on how you want to listen. 
- Remembering to take time from your busy life to self-care. 
- Building gratitude and compassion for nature and those around you. 
- Nourish nature as is it does you.

Music is the ordered language of the universe. A language that has the power to effect the soul. Amelia Chain's influences differ from most classical artists, drawing heavily on the melancholy of Joy Division, Fever Ray, Sigur Ross and Mogwai, to complement the more established expected influences. The production and orchestration is also based in the experience of having in the past worked with members of such influential bands as Joy Division, New Order and the Chameleons. I love to create emotive pieces that move me, I get lost in the whole creative process, it's a beautiful thing.

I have recently returned from an amazing 30-date European Tour NOV/DEC 2019, with the formidable John Robb and his Membranes, with drummer Mike Simii from BFG, whilst supporting Mark Lanegan, (The Screaming Trees/QOTSA/The Gutter Twins), Keith Levene (PIL, The Clash) joined us on stage at The Roundhouse in London. Our 2 gigs supporting The Stranglers FINAL UK tour in Ireland this May was cancelled due to Coronavirus, but I've been informed these will go ahead when safe to do so!
