If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance.

We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud Go tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks (and remixes of tracks) that have been previously submitted, and tracks from banned artists will also be removed.

'in the dark' is new lead single from pecq - producer and multi-instrumentalist duo Hannah (Jakes) Jacobs (synth player for Barry Can’t Swim and Arlo Parks) and Niko O'Brien (engineer for the likes of Liz Fraser and Porij). The innovative pair create 'pop at its most exploratory' [Clash] and have been featured by the likes of BBC Radio 1, 2 and 6, Amazing Radio Top 40, Bandcamp Front Page, NOTION and the 6 Music Introducing Best of 2022.

The focus track ‘in the dark’ is about a situationship, falling for someone who’s avoidant and getting burnt.

‘I’ve been on both sides of the situationship vibe and they’re isolating in their own way - one cos you’re chasing an unattainable version of someone and the other cos you can’t let someone in. So it’s not a ragey situationship revenge song, it’s about that empty feeling at the end of the night when you wanted to feel closer to someone but just feel more alone’’

Odyssey

The song is based on a poem by Percy Bysshe Shelley, the husband of Mary Shelly, who wrote Frankenstein. The theme is the transience of power, a topic that is also very relevant today.  Accompanied by acoustic guitars and the sound of a mandolin, the song has a folky mood.

Pink Cliffs is the alt rock/psych pop band of London-based Si Miller. Their 4th single ‘Never Gonna Make You Mine’ drops on 17th April, following a 2 year health-induced hiatus. It’s frantic song that blends sweet drum machine blips, doubled vocal harmonies, dissonant guitar clangs and chanted vocals. It follows an obsessed character in the pursuit of the unobtainable.

2024 with see Pink Cliffs release a flurry of singles culminating in the vinyl release of debut LP ‘Long Shadows’.
