Remix single out now everywhere: fsxrs.lnk.to/parachute

As we get ready to roll out more new music from Lane Beckstrom later this month, first we circle back to last year's “Parachute” single – where the prolific bassist (for Chance The Rapper & Nico Segal’s Social Experiment ‘Surf’ project, as well as The JuJu Exchange, Resavoir, Kids These Days, and more) first debuted as a solo artist. 

For the occasion, Lane reached out to fellow Chicagoan, artist/producer Knox Fortune (who had Lane play bass & co-produce on his ’Stock Child Wonder’ LP), and Knox came through in spades with an electronic-tinged, dancefloor-ready take on the track – which now also serves as the latest release in our Fresh Selects Remix Series.

"'umbra' is defined as the fully shaded inner region of a shadow cast by an opaque object. this was an interesting one. i actually just pressed record & freestyled these lyrics. the words just flowed out of me. after listening back to it a bit after its creation, i realized the song was my inner most self realizing that i was going to break up with my girlfriend. 'i already gave every ounce of me, why aren’t we crossing the boundary?'"
