Tamara van der Laarse,(Sounds Like Tamara)I'm an artistic music designer.
I compose my own electronic music composition, ambient, soundscapes or melodic electro and sometimes very abstract sounds, with use of fieldrecordings, my own cello samples and electronic devices. I make music for and with performance art, (live) fashion/couture shows, choreography, dance, film or art installation pieces. I have been performing as a DJ since 2001 and experienced in collective project. 

About me:
In 2001 I was working in record shops, collecting music, buying too many records. I wanted to share this love for music with other people, so I started djing for local electronic underground parties. Since then I had the great pleasure to be involved with most of the renown (and obscure)clubs, cultural organizations, festivals, museums. Supporting local & international acts throughout the city’s nightlife. 

Artist bio:
Tamara van der Laarse is an Amsterdam-based sound artist, electronic music composer, and DJ. Her multidisciplinary practice spans formats including composing music, art performances, music releases, photography, and video. Van der Laarse’s performances have appeared at fashion shows, art nights, club- and museum nights. In her work, she analyses different approaches using sound and music, working almost like a sound architect.

As she studied audiovisual art and graphic design, she loves to design music conceptually, shaping her own sonic worlds. Making electronic compositions and sometimes using piano or cello sounds, as well as her archive of various field recordings, designing imaginary movie scores is what she loves most. Her work becomes the intersection between music and performing arts. Tamara has been an educator and artistic music director at several art academies, working with and mentoring art students.

THE NO
My fascination for designing electronic music, was created during design class (2005) at Gerrit Rietveld Academy, lead by graphic design teachers from Experimental Jetset. I designed "The No". In this ongoing conceptual audio graphic art project I play with identity and desire, the word No means something, still missing. This became my own (non) identity. A number of tracks have already been released on various labels, a lot is there to be released.

CLUB SEDUCTION
With Club Seduction (formerly known as Club Lederhosen), I produce events, doing art direction, bringing multiple disciplines together with dj’s, designers and artists. Through my work I’m closely connected with young and upcoming artists from the music & art & fashion scene.

Very much an amateur hobbyist keyboard and organ player, now retired from work and able to spend more time enjoying  my 'autumn years' indulging in a very pleasant pursuit. Particularly fond of the Hammond Organ sound though only possessing clones of the tonewheel organ myself, digital copies that have just got better and better though over the last few years.  Also fond of theatre organ music.

A fingerstyle guitarist rooted in piedmont, country blues, ragtime, and American primitivism. Heavily influenced by Stefan Grossman, John Fahey, and Jack Rose.
