Cocotiers: genre musical que même si c'est l'hiver, ciel gris foncé, de la vieille pluie même pas en diagonale, pas rigolote, les morceaux et sets changent toute ta perception. C'est les vacances, temps libre, et ça dans un endroit où y a de l'eau, mer lac ou rivière, fait beau, lunettes de soleil nécessaire, crème SPF 50 (sans nanoparticules sérieux niquez-vous avec vos innovations toxiques à la con).
Donc cocotiers, c'est ambiance chaleur, vacances on oublie tout, t'as les doigts de pied dans le sable à bonne température, y a des palmiers normal la méditerranée tu connais le sang, t'es peinard au bord de l'eau.
Du coup c'est de la musique tous genres confondus mais qui sentent le temps libre à l'ombre d'un cocotier, le genre c'est ambiance. On se prélasse en mode lézard.

In this track I wanted to tell a story of mythical creatures whose charming appearance and enchanting voice can lead to the catastrophe of entire sea vessels.

While listening to this track, I want you to imagine yourself on a ship, swimming into a rocky gorge. As soon as you hear tempting singing of the divine creatures you are no longer able to control your body and you just dive into the abysm of a fatal dance.

After a bit of a breather, Kalcagni is back with another tasty batch of electro delights for his Cosmoba label.

Kicking things off is “Target Practice,” a no-nonsense dance floor weapon. Think chunky analog basslines paired with eerie strings, all held together by rock-solid beats and a live break workout that keeps it raw and energetic. “Improv” follows up with punchy chords, sharp synth stabs, and deep, rumbling bass—built to rattle walls and fill rooms.

On the flip, “Clean Shirt” features a wobbly, warping bassline that occasionally steps aside for lush, stacked pads, creating a hypnotic push-and-pull dynamic. While “Drift n Shift” closes with smooth minor 7th chords, dissonant basslines, and 808-driven grooves.

PREMIERE: Kalcagni - Improv [Cosmoba Records]

Our favorite Black Martian has returned for another interstellar mission with Club Mackan. Mundo D, captain of the Cosmic Exploration team, embarks on a retro-futuristic odyssey, delivering three stellar tracks that navigate the Synthiverse between the realms of EBM and Italo Body Music.

Joining the crew on this voyage are Club Mackan captain Marcus Christiansen and Karl Draum, helping steer the ship through the vast Synthiverse, adjusting the course with their own cosmic interpretations.

The title track, Cosmic Exploration, launches with 80s-heavy EBM percussion and bass, paired with razor-sharp saw synths that slice through the atmosphere. Echoing elements of rave, progressive house, and trance, it’s a prime example of what we like to call Italo Body Music—driving, hypnotic, and yet catchy.

Music follows a similar orbit but veers slightly toward electro, while still harnessing the piercing energy of the saw synths. It’s a cosmic signal pulsing through the ether, charged with nostalgia yet wired for the future.

Rounding off the journey, Death Match is an intense collision of 80s influences fused into a modern powerhouse, its intricate arrangements ensuring that this sonic duel is one for the ages.

When Marcus Christiansen assumes control of Cosmic Exploration, the course shifts. The ride is smoother, yet curiously bouncier—propelled by iconic 80s snares and drifting somewhere between synthwave, trance, and piano house. A new trajectory, but still within the same constellation.

Meanwhile, as Karl Draum takes the helm of Music, the coordinates push further into trance territory. Have we crossed into uncharted space, or are we simply seeing the familiar from a new perspective? Perhaps you can help us decide.

Bedouin is the Brooklyn-based production and DJ partnership between nomads Rami Abousabe and Tamer Malki. Bringing their unique spell of melodies and rhythms to Crosstown Rebels, they deliver their cover version of the famous Pink Floyd classic, Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun. Guy Gerber also steps in to deliver a deeply mystical dance floor remix.

Sharing an eclectic sonic vision that pulls from diverse influences owing to their Middle Eastern heritage, Western upbringing, and world travels, here Bedouin deliver some of their best productions to date. “Getting the chance to play the song to Pink Floyd’s drummer Nick Mason personally and him liking it was very exciting for us. We're also happy to have the very talented and our good friend Guy Gerber to be the first ever to remix one of our tracks. The b-side, ‘Guacamole’, is an original track conceived in Mexico and made for the dance floor.”

In 2016, as well as touring the world extensively, Bedouin curated a compilation entitled Kindisch Stories and had the honour of recording an Essential Mix for Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 show. 2017 saw the launch of their brand SAGA at Heart Ibiza, where they turn Ibiza Sundays into a mirage of musical odysseys. Guy Gerber also runs his highly successful Rumors party in Ibiza on Sundays, which takes the same name as his acclaimed record label.

We had such an amazing time playing at Sisyphos, Berlin. It's truly a humbling experience to see everybody so happy throughout our set. After three hours we came to the conclusion that this was one of the best gig's we've had so far. 

Our recorder died on us when we were only around an hour into our set, but we decided to upload it anyway. For the rest of the set: you had to be there with us.

Unsere Lieblinge Geju sollten uns eigentlich mit einem speziellen Podcast beglücken. Dies musste aber erst Mal auf Eis gelegt werden, denn die beiden Musiker sind momentan sehr gefragt. Zudem werden Sie bald neue Produktionen veröffentlichen, die es in sich haben.

Als 'Entschädigung' erhielten wir ihr Live-Set vom diesjährigen Mayan Warrior Camp. Say what? Ich bin beim Hören nicht mehr aus dem Grinsen herausgekommen und hoffe, dass es euch mindestens genauso gut gefällt, wie mir. Passend zu den letzten Sonnenstrahlen des Jahres 'schwooft' das Set gemächlich und mit einer Menge Leichtigkeit über die auditiven Felder unseres Bewusstseins. Wahrlich zum Verlieben. Übrigens sind in dem Set schon mehrere Neuerscheinungen enthalten...

Shedding their usual sample house roots, Irish duo Long Island Sound are back on their brand new label, Signs of Space. That’s not to say we won’t find any samples on the record, but the direction is wholly different than what they’ve come to be known for in a short span of time. A brave move in today’s underground landscape where one wrong step can land you on a trip to house music irrelevancy. We think Rob and Tim may be onto something here though as the “Initial Ascent” EP is a well produced re-debut. 

Our premiere today is the A2 track entitled ‘Shadows From Nowhere’. It’s a breakbeat track at its core but the accompanying sounds are testament to the name of the label. Cosmic sounds adorn the piece with lush, spacey pads and a full, deep, bassline. Analog bleeps and bloops further cement the track as extraterrestrial while the emotive strings really add depth and feeling to it. It’s the standout track for us, although you’ll be sure to find similar flavours on the rest of the record.

Benedikt Frey is many. Or just one? He is a composer. An arranger. A DJ. A Liveact. A ghost producer. A fan. His sound signature moved on. Into the open. He founded labels like R.i.O. or Serious Trouble. 

He lives in Berlin. Physically. In mind Benedikt Frey is at many places. Traveling far thru his home studio that is a flat a studio a flat an instrument a record collection a flat a studio. Everywhere gear, vinyl, tapes, instruments, rooms for spontaneous sonic notions, these moments, when a sudden strike of stimulation falls. He is inspired a lot. For music to dance. Music for films. Music for live shows. Music for dancing glows. Techno, house, downbeat, ambient, jungle, electronics outside the norms. Those transportive ones. Jamming with others. Jamming with his mind. In Berlin Wedding, North of the town, where the lights dimmed low, neighbors share the flow, and a small river runs slow.  As a DJ he plays here, there, everywhere.
