About Tresor Berlin
At midnight, on March 13th 1991, a basement door opened at Leipziger Strasse 126, Berlin. Through this door, many passed, on their way to defining new terrains in electronic music. There they found a dance floor in the vaults of a closed-down department store, with a unique sound bound to dense fog, building night after night a history that was also a vision of the future.

This history has seen in Jeff Mills’ first sets on three turntables, Underground Resistance's first live appearances in Europe, grandiose Tresor Park parties, to various chapters of the Loveparade with Sven Väth in the 90s and since then countless generation-spanning parties. These moments represent the highlights of infinite personal clubbing experiences. It is the manifestation of the Berlin spirit, emerging from its considerable strife. This history is not without its complications - from temporary closure by the authorities and several raids in the early years to closure and demolition of the old location in 2005. What followed was years of wandering in exile and, finally, resurrection in the new home in Kraftwerk Berlin.

These stories, conversations and shared experiences within our walls forge a resilience that drives towards a shared ideal, the Tresor sound: community, resistance, and the world to come. This was observed in the newly re-unified German youth, who danced and celebrated together from the club’s inception, and into the present day through ongoing community work in Detroit.

To those that have danced before, and to those that will dance in the future: the light at the end of the long Tresor tunnel is a signal. A flicker amidst the fog. This is our future. This is our place.

Our next artist was born in Tbilisi, Georgia . He was greatly inspired by works of such artists like Biosphere, Robert rich, Saphileaum and more... As an ambient or techno selector, his sound is characterized by his love for landscapes and hypnotic structures. He is the co-founder of Structural Realism, a sub-label division of georgian's @palmstructure. Please welcome @giorgieradze

Next up in our OYE podcast series is Irakli. He surprises us with a rather unusual house mix. Since he's usually known for techno or ambient sets, we really like this. A truly summery mix that immediately puts you in a good mood. Perfect for these gloomy times we're currently living in.

Originally from Georgia, Irakli’s early descent into the German capital has seen him corner and develop a side of the local scene and turn it into something of an international fare. He created STAUB, one of Berlin’s most celebrated techno parties. As a part of the production duo I/Y, he has been releasing music under the synonymous co-founded label. 

But most of all, Irakli’s craft behind the decks has been weighed upon by the likeliest of Berlin’s underground venues, namely Tresor, Berghain and Griessmuehle, with his vision of electronic music taken further afield in Europe, and the Americas.

In 2017 he founded the Intergalactic Research Institute for Sound with artists like Stanislav Tolkachev, Natalie Beridze, Rezo Glonti and many others. Irakli also heads up a burgeoning convey diving into exploratory concepts of ambient, hued by the tones and colors of his homeland, Georgia. Adding orchestral collaborations and sound installations to a field of work outside of the club, Irakli’s expanding platforms and industrious connection to Berlin has seen his entry point into the scene now serve as an outlet into the more abstract, experimental realms of techno. 

With new endeavors afoot and a creative repertoire to boot, Irakli’s DJ sets, labels and parties always display unique qualities. It does not matter whether he is exploring beatless soundscapes or high energy techno music, Irakli always manages to create something special.

ena b. is a Lisbon-based producer, DJ, and vocalist blending deep ambient techno with ethereal vocals. Starting as a folk and indie singer-songwriter, she transitioned into electronic music with her indie-electronica album Ketamine Vacation and the single “Headspace,” which gained notable radio play in Spain and Portugal. Her evolution continued with Cycles on Spanish label Be Your Own Studio—a concept album exploring inner growth and the seasons through a fusion of electronica, techno, and trip hop, all tied together by her distinctive vocals.

DJ Sodeyama’s murky alias The People in Fog is up next for a very special number. The DJ/producer has been active since the 90s, reshaping his home city, extensively touring the globe, releasing music, founding record labels (Arpa) and toying with different incarnations of his palette under a few different names. The People In Fog is one such project, founded a decade ago as license to lean into his more disco and house inclinations, a means of connecting with a lighter penchant for Chicago-style and Balearic rhythms. It’s a manifestation that’s given the world several first-rate releases like debut album A Ray of Light (2013), Album: 1977 (2021) and this year’s Too Much Knobs and Cables. His whistle-stop promo tour of Japan for that latest release has been whipping up plenty of shifting grooves and phase distortions, and delivering that fresh take on sound to IRL crowds in his native land. For the rest of us, the nine-tracker’s a perfect source for summer anthems: a fuzzy, analog patchwork of synths and low-end bass. Bassiani Podcast 273 takes all of this and turns up the heat, The People In Fog’s deep reverence for underground sounds is here for a two-hour mash up of grimy percussions and sensuous urban sounds. There’s always that one set at Perpendicular that people talk about after. In 2024, it was Fhionbarra’s closer, a set that caught everyone's attention and ultimately became the reference point for the entire edition. Coming into this year, expectations were quietly building. The line-up mixed familiar crews with newer names from across Europe and beyond, with London showing up particularly strong. That blend is what makes Perpendicular tick: the local warmth, the international cross-pollination, and the sense that discovery is just as important as reunion.

This time, the slot was different. Instead of a final word, Fhionbarra was handed Saturday late afternoon, when the forest is still glowing with light and people are searching for a balance between motion and pause. He leaned into it with a set built on breaks and halftime, cut clean and calibrated for the hour. No force, no shortcuts, just patience, groove, and trust in the moment.

The effect was undeniable. The crowd didn’t need intensity, they needed direction, and he gave it to them. The floor moved easily, the heat started to fade, and suddenly the afternoon was marked by that rare kind of clarity when the right DJ meets the right context. Fhionbarra proved last year wasn’t a one-off, he can shape a moment on his own terms, no matter the slot.
