Gateways between worlds are by their very nature a mysterious means of transportation. Upon stepping across their thresholds, one finds themselves instantaneously & inexorably arrived at their destination, having crossed the boundaries of place, space, and time with an unsettling ease. Their very existence seemingly exceeds the enmeshing rule of the divine throughout the universe, and yet such divinities as the VISION SERPENT itself grant these gateways as a boon to their followers, allowing and even encouraging them to travel the vast expanses of their creation. Could there even be a limit to their destinations?

Such thoughts race through your mind as you stand at the precipice of another such portal, the visage of the vision serpent looming above in the simmering shadows cast by the gateway’s luminescent edges. The vision before you this time is murkier, cast in aberrant hues and eerily reminiscent of a locale past, as though only a memory. As the portal lies open before you, you wonder where it is that you have truly been traveling. Does this portal lead to a physical realm? Or shall you soon traverse such GREAT DISTANCES as exist within the planes of existence themselves?

DROPLEX enters the VISION SERPENT roster alongside label founder DAVID PHOENIX as he delivers a set of twin timbral sequences that intertwine for the label’s latest release, GREAT DISTANCES. The titular track tells a tale of space and time amidst a sonic nebula that houses a multitude of shimmering sounds, whilst its companion manifests a melody from the depths of its arrangement to provide a compelling light for listeners amidst its brooding atmosphere. Together, the tracks mark the latest locale revealed by VISION SERPENT to all who heed its exploratory call.
