Over the past decade Skymning has independently released a steady stream of dense textural electronic music. Gradually evolving from pockets of ambience created in hometown Te Whanganui-a-Tara to sharper dance-oriented breakbeats informed by years digging though record stores in London, Skymning returns to Aotearoa to unveil his largest body of work - RELENTLESS.  

Merging heavy bass, warbling tapes and immersive field recordings, RELENTLESS is Skymning’s most dynamic and sonically ambitious release to date. The 13 tracks - created from condensing years worth of recording material and mixed down during Tāmaki Makaurau’s longest lockdown so far - revolve around themes of grief, loss and pain. RELENTLESS will be released through Bankrupt Records on 13 November 2021.

By the time this mix comes out two singles will have been released from the album. Both are available on the skymning bandcamp page (skymning.bandcamp.com) and the album will be released through the Bankrupt Records bandcamp (bankruptworldwide.bandcamp.com). Skymning has set up a website - skymning.online - which is set to redirect to his latest releases.

The mix is mostly vinyl and contains dub plates and unreleased collaborations.
