Leon – DJ / Producer

Leon has been immersed in music for as long as he can remember. Cutting his teeth in the Jungle and Drum & Bass scene, he quickly became a regular behind the decks at London’s underground warehouse parties and iconic venues such as The Coronet, Ministry of Sound, Astoria, Corsica Studios, Lightbox, and Club Rouge. Along the way, he shared line-ups with legends like Zinc, Friction, Loxy, Ink, and many others. His sets have also graced the airwaves of FM stations including Origin 95.2FM, Life FM, Upfront, and the original Invincible Radio alongside guest appearances on the Mighty Kool FM & Don FM 

As his sound evolved, Leon’s lifelong passion for House music — rooted in his early raving days — began to take centre stage. He became a resident at the original Solid Grooves parties in London, performing alongside influential artists such as Michael Bibi, Francesca Lombardo, Alex Arnout, Orbital, Dan Lively, Mouj & many others further cementing his reputation within the capital’s underground scene.

Today, Leon’s sound spans Disco, Electronica, Deep House, Electro, Tech, Minimal, Jackin', Dub and Techno — a reflection of his deep musical curiosity and ability to fuse soulful grooves with forward-thinking rhythms. His influences range from Q, A Guy Called Gerald, The Rat Pack, The Prodigy, Carl Cox, Jazzie B, LTJ Bukem, Goldie, Roni Size, Randall, Ben Watt, Robag Wruhme, Johnny L, Manuel Tur, Claude VonStroke, Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler, and many more.

Music has always been central to Leon’s life. Having learned both keyboard and acoustic guitar at a young age, and raised in a home filled with diverse sounds — from Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, and Curtis Mayfield to Depeche Mode, Pink Floyd, and Everything But The Girl — he developed a deep appreciation for musicality across genres, including classical influences.

After completing a Sound Engineering course at Islington Music Workshop, Leon began to focus on production, channelling his lifelong love of drums, beats, percussive sound, rolling bass and intricate sound design into his own music.

After taking a sabbatical to raise his beautiful son Noah, who is on the autistic spectrum, Leon is back with a bang — Soon launching his brand new label 'Beat Me Up Recordings' alongside Ed Ash. The label is more than just a musical venture: it’s a community-driven project built on inclusivity, creativity, and raising awareness of neurodiversity through the universal language of music.

With his deep roots, fresh perspective, and renewed energy, Leon’s next chapter promises to be his most inspired yet.

The Italian-German composer, DJ and founder of the record label 99CHANTS. He has been releasing music since 2010, but it took self- evaluation and a re-examination of his priorities for August to lean towards the future and follow his most experimental inclinations.
In 2023, his output is harder than ever to define, stretching across genres and disciplines to chafe the heart of the human experience.

Artist, composer, arranger, producer, multi-instrumentalist, entrepreneur and Post Millennium Rocker. SANANDA MAITREYA was born in New York U.S.A. on March 15th 1962. He plays the basic instruments of Rock: drums, bass, guitar and keyboards; as well as a few others instruments besides and he can never remember a time when music wasn't playing in his head. From the beginning of his professional career he has personally written arranged and produced all his music and has also collaborated with other top artists and producers. 
He started his career as Terence Trent D'Arby.
Since 1995, at the age of 33, he adopts the name Sananda Maitreya that for the artist represents a new starting point, in 2001 this becomes also his legal name. 
Sananda has been a internet presence since the late ‘90s and was one of the first major artist to add credibility to the current explosion and acceptance of the internet music communication and digital world. He believed all along that the Internet would be his path to true musical freedom, without in his words, “the usual gains and compromises”.
He presents his music as POST MILLENNIUM ROCK, its main elements are heart and soul, its nature is passion, courage and curiosity and it acknowledges no rules but the goal to lead the listener back to his heart, to provoke his mind and re-approach him to his true feelings. Now he celebrates the 25th anniversary of his first release as a solo artist.

Initially established in 2003 at The Eagle in London’s Vauxhall, Horse Meat Disco has evolved into a powerful force in queer and club culture as a whole, while staying local to its original home, each and every Sunday. Co-founded by James Hillard and Jim Stanton, and encompassing residents Severino and Luke Howard, the crew continue to maintain not only the weekly Sunday party, but a number of residencies in cities across the world, alongside a kaleidoscope of club appearances, festival dates and specially curated mixes.

Taking inspiration from a diverse, counter-cultural history of clubs and DJs, as well as from the sprawling, ever-expanding musical collections of it's resident crew, the sound of HMD is impossible to place. Nonetheless their style is undeniable, as is a popper-scented air of sheer authenticity. Rooted in hedonism, rhythm, freedom and emotion, a Horse Meat Disco set reinforces everything invigorating about disco, as comfortable as shattering old-school mirror ball cliches as basking in their light.

A typical HMD set blends classics, italo disco, house, oddities and punk funk, to conjure their initial spirit of “a queer party for everyone”, including, but not limited to, “Homos and Heteros, club kids, bears, fashionistas, naturists, guerilla drag queens and ladies who munch.” They have made appearances on every notable club scene in the modern world, as well as those beyond, and have long been a key fixture at festivals including Glastonbury, Bestival and Festival No.6.

Outside of the club, the Horse Meat Disco train rolls across the airwaves on Rinse FM, where the crew hold down a weekly residency every Sunday afternoon, serving as a pre and post-club Sunday lunch accompaniment, often delving into the more soulful shades of their sublime taste, often encompassing rave groove, gospel and whatever they can’t get away with on the dancefloor (which, as the years have proven, isn’t much). A series of expertly curated and acclaimed compilations for reissue label Strut helped further cement HMD’s formidable but communal reputation as disco masterminds, spreading their sound and many enviable obscurities into front rooms and record bags across the world. Their latest, ‘Meat Me Down the Disco’, was released on Z Records in 2017.

After decades of crate digging, globetrotting and partying, the HMD story continues apace. 2017 also saw the crew record their long-awaited contribution to BBC Radio 1’s ‘Essential Mix’, as well as their first joint foray into production, ‘Waiting For You To Call’, featuring Roy Inc., and released on their own, self-titled imprint. They are currently working on new music to be released with Glitterbox, with the new single ‘Let’s Go Dancing’ released in December 2018.

  We are a collective of DJ's/Producers hailing from South West London who began our venture as ‘Beat Me Up’ late last year (2008) and have already played togehter as a collective at various venues including bar night at Mish Mash and club nights at Corsica Studios, Area and Ministry of Sound under the guise ‘Beat Me Up’. 


  This group will host all our future productions and monthly mixes.


  We all come from slightly different musical backgrounds, bringing them together over a mutual love of House music.
