Forty-two months can be a lifetime in the rapidly changing world of dance music, but the 3 ½ years since Maya Jane Coles’ previous Mobilee release, 2011’s “Beat Faster,” has seen the UK DJ/producer accumulate unprecedented accolades from all corners of the dance music sphere, from magazine covers and reader poll placement to premier league bookings and regular play by her esteemed house music peers 

Having seamlessly transitioned from buzz-heavy newcomer to perennial favorite, Maya returns to Mobilee with three tracks in her unmistakable style, one that has only become more potent with practice on releases by Dogmatik, Hypercolour, Jackathon Jams, 20:20 Vision and her own I/AM/ME label. “From the Dark” picks up perfectly where “Beat Faster” left off, with the addition vocalist Moggli only adding more spice to the bubble tech house stew. Proof that as fast as Maya’s star has shot, there’s still plenty of sky left to travel.

With ‚Illesnoise vs. Juli Holz’ we present a split-EP by two young ladies, who masterfully know their craft. 

During the past years, Illesnoise has made a name for herself in the Dutch scene as an unerring DJ with a distinctive feel for flow and melody. With ‘Nova’ she now celebrates her production debut. The result emphasises the maturity, which only a schooled DJ can bring to the table, as an enveloping bass-line glides through an arrangement of harmonic synth-bells and an emotive vocal loop. On his techno-leaning remix, Oliver Koletzki ups the tempo and focuses on peak-time atmospherics. 
	
After a teasing hiatus, we are glad to welcome back Juli Holz, who has exchanged the emotional cotton candy for an altogether darker dance-floor-aesthetic. ‘Drive’ captivates by way of deep sawtooth bass and, of course, Juli’s brilliantly distinct voice, which can be heard here in the most diverse facets. Kind of leftfield, but marvellously danceable. Lastly, Dan Caster delivers a driving remix of epic proportions. Girl Power!

Ninja Tune's Counter imprint meets Modeselektor's Monkeytown to release RY X and Frank Wiedemann aka Âme, remixed by Matt “Radio Slave” Edwards and Thomas “Cagedbaby” Gandey (the latter two also now known as Matom for their more Kosmische output), on an 11 minute deep'n'meaningful dark-club epic? It's such a big-name pile-up, it was always going to either be lowest common denominator or highest common factor; thankfully, though, it really has given us the best from all involved. This is one of those magic tunes where you keep thinking nothing's happening, then suddenly you realise it's risen up around you to become all-enveloping, and before you know it you're compelled to take it from the top... and not just once either. This needs a health warning, it's so addictive.

One of the most accomplished and revered producers in electronic music today makes his solo debut on Kompakt: French mastermind AGORIA joins our release fold after a foretaste with his stellar 2013 remix of Michael Mayer's "Good Times" (KOMPAKT 272), presenting us with his new mesmerizing floor epic BAPTÊME. 

"I'm very happy that BAPTÊME will finally be released", says the producer, hinting at the track's long and winding path to completion: "it's a very special tune for me, representing a lot of changes in my personal life these last two years. It signals my 'second life', if you will". Meaning "baptism" in French, the cut's title is indeed a perfect fit for its particularly festive spirit, exuding both solemnity and sheer pleasure, hallmarks of AGORIA's unique brand of emotional and versatile techno. Bouncy, minimalist percussion is joined by an extensive, dub-styled sub-bass and floating shards of atmospheric synths, quickly escalating into a high definition mover fitted with gorgeous swabs of piano and a keen sense for emotional space.  

On the flipside, the original track gets a fascinating rework from DJ Tennis and The Rapture's Luke Jenner, whose LUCKY BLUE EYES VERSION adds more wiggle room to the proceedings, bolstering its loosened grip with enticing new vocals. In yet another step forward, AGORIA himself revisits the remix, sharpening its blurry edges and successfully putting the vocals to work in a prime time environment: "my friend Patrice Bardot - the chief editor of Tsugi Magazine - even said that this one sounds like The Doors for the 21st century", he adds - and indeed, it's next level dreaming for those who need a little bit more from their floor than just another knock on the head.

It's the long-awaited return of a classic combo - Kompakt luminaries MICHAEL MAYER and REINHARD VOIGT join forces for TIME IS RUNNING, the latest addendum in an ongoing conversation that brought us iconic releases such as Speicher 2 (KOMPAKT EXTRA 2, including the cuts "Pride Is Weaker Than Love" and "Supertiel"). As was to be expected from producers as floor-savvy as these two, the new offering bears all the hallmarks of a club favorite, incorporating the crisp rawness of early Kompakt stompers as well as the sophisticated sonics to be found in our current catalogue.
Ever since the days of Cologne's legendary techno supergroup Forever Sweet, MICHAEL MA YER and REINHARD VOIGT have teamed up in one way or another, sharing credits on label milestones like "Sky Dumont" (KOMPAKT EXTRA 28) or "Unter Null" (KOMPAKT EXTRA 07). The new release TIME IS RUNNING sees them presenting their own solo work, evenly spread over two sides of the same coin - a compilation of sorts, but with all the characteristics of a close collaboration between soulmates united under one groove. And based on the hilarious (and somewhat bittersweet) cover picture, this bond is not going to dissolve any time soon, as the two friends imagine themselves as techno retirees toasting to a full live spent amid beats and bass lines.

The A-side of TIME IS RUNNING holds a particularly sure- footed entry in MICHAEL MAYER's track portfolio, with THE STICKLER being a welcome update on his more raucous output. The straightforward thump of this cut comes with sizzling percussion, siren-like synth stabs and throaty bass - a hearty techno romp that doesn't seem too interested in making prisoners. The flipside takes a similar line with THE BUDDY, a rock-solid floor jam from the hands of REINHARD VOIGT - it's a more than fitting contribution, enforcing the producer's madcap hypnotism with paranoid synth squelches and tenacious beats. If that's how old age sounds, we can't wait to hit that pension fund.

"Just" wastes no time locking the brisk rhythm into place before a wriggling earworm of a lead pans across the channels. Atmospheric swells are pieced by gatling-gun snares; the tension builds but never releases, making this a surefire precursor to the bulk of heavyweight set climaxes you're likely to hear this summer. As ever, the aural equivalent of 20,000 bicep emojis.

California dance-floor champ DJ Day gives Echo's iconic "Bohemian Idol" a 1980s drum machine reggae vibe and lets the delay run wild, while New Zealand's analog maverick Lord Echo transforms Day's "Land of a Thousand Chances" into a live disco dub studio jam session.

And we are back with the 11th edition of Shir Khan’s Black Jukebox Series. This time Shir Khan has collected 3 heavy jams from Purple Disco Machine, Dayne S and Zoka. We didn't do any promo for this one so far but it's available in a few good recordstores now.
A1 was played by Pete Tong at BBC Radio 1 last week and it's compilation of the week at DMC World.
PDM's "Magic" kicks off proceedings with a well know male-rap vocal collaged onto a funky shaker rhythm before "Evil Vibration" by the Mighty Ryeders gets lo-pass filtered into just bass and groove. Every so often the catchy rap hook gets fired over the top of the mix with aplomb, hitting hard and working collaboratively with the hi-pass filtered sections. Dayne S's "My Soul" is up next, another soundsystem-ready disco-house jam which tickles the subwoofers beautifully and seems purpose built for eyes-wide-shut Summer terrace play in big outdoor spaces. Zoka brings two cuts to the B-side. "I Don't Dance" deploys some nice warm disco drums before subtly working in some intricate guitar parts, funky b-line and sensual female vocals. Another hip-shaker to get an early evening dancefloor wiggling too. Finally, "Professional Dancer" closes off the EP with a percussion heavy workout taking in wicky-wicky guitar (official term) and heady, psychedelic elements; a loft-party future classic for sophisticated dancers everywhere.

‘When people came to the Muzic Box they specifically came there for one reason: to get their jack on. They came there to sweat and to listen to music.’ A tribute to the beginning of Chicago Deep House with a modern twist put into an EP of 3 tracks - a slice of electro-funk, feel good house and warehouse breaks. A homage to the infamous nightclub ’ The Muzic Box’ (former name ’ Warehouse’) from Chicago where Jackin’ was developed with a smile on your face.

Click Click has been one of Berlin’s best kept underground DJs. We have been enjoying his DJ-sets so much it was natural we asked for a release. When he dropped ’The Muzic Box’ for the first time, Shir Khan immediately wanted to sign the track and there we go!

The last 2 years saw him releasing records on Green Velvet’s/Cajmere’s Cajual Records, San Franciscos OM Records or his own label Kassette Records (which he co-runs with M_Ferri). With regular DJ Gigs at Berlin’s Watergate and Stattbad Wedding or Sao Paulos D.Edge, the future is looking bright for this very talented producer.
