Unsere zweite Ausgabe vom New In Radio gibt einen Einblick in den sehr dichten und diversen Leipziger März 2025. In diesem Monat kamen ganz verschiedene Releases heraus – mit Techno, Jungle, Experimental, Indie-Ambient und mehr. 

Die Ausgabe #2 lief am 6. Mai um 20 Uhr auf Radio Blau, dem offenen Radio von Leipzig – im Live-Stream, über DAB+-Block 10A / 209.936 Mhz und auf UKW 99,2 MHz.

Anschließend ist die Sendung für sieben Tage in der Radio-Blau-Mediathek nachzuhören, und bei uns hier natürlich ohne Limit.

This month's show for Electronic Convergence is one for the House-Heads! A mixture of some new records from Burnski on Gravitate, DJ Deep and Traumer's joint venture label, Get Rooted, Mike Sharon on Traxx Underground and the magificent 'The Rush' by Delano Smith, combined with some Jacking House classics from Mario Fabriani (aka Joey Youngman) and LawnChair Generals. Legendary dub techno artist Paul St. Hilaire (AKA Tikiman) announces new collaborative album, marking 10 years of Kynant Records. 

Building on the success of Paul St. Hilaire’s landmark solo album for Kynant in 2023, w/ The Producers switches up the formula to pair St. Hilaire with a different producer on each track. Referencing fellow dub techno pioneers Mark Ernestus & Moritz von Oswald’s acclaimed album w/ The Artists as Rhythm & Sound, St. Hilaire flips the concept to feature as the lone vocalist.

Over the album’s nine tracks, St. Hilaire offers a range of conscious song-writing and headtop musings, such as the spoken-word dread of “What’s This” or the sparse call-to-action of “Send Them On”. w/ The Producers is yet another essential record in St. Hilaire’s unmatched discography.

The album marks 10 years of Kynant Records, with label owner Richard Akingbehin curating an eclectic but sonically connected group of producers. These include luminaries such as Digital Mystikz boss and dubstep trailblazer Mala, or the elusive Chain Reaction artist Shinichi Atobe. They sit alongside some of the most exciting names in recent electronic music - Batu, Gavsborg, Azu Tiwaline, Priori, Cousin, Russell E.L. Butler, Aurora Halal and DJ G - all of whom bring different elements of dub techno into their productions.

w/ The Producers finds Kynant Records bridging the original voice of dub techno with the genre’s new wave. It’s a statement of intent from the label, which began 10 years ago with deep, hypnotic techno and has veered gradually towards more dubwise sounds.

With a diverse taste from ambient to techno but always with a psychedelic dark and evolving twist.

This mix is no difference a beautiful deep dark trip within different textures and melodies and gruadally evolves but keeps the groove and dance.

In my club sets I am always looking for a balance between repetitive beats that soak you up and make dance floors move like one body, and breaks and experiments that keep things interesting. This beautiful track full of weird sounds really works for that. Not only it's an amazing track, it is also a very important message. I don’t want to take up too much space on this platform that is also used by P4lest1n14ns to show the world the unimaginable horror and injustice that is done to them, without pointing that out once more.

A special midweek addition to the Ceremony mix series comes this week from Casper Clark aka Volte-Face. An artist I’ve long admired, Casper has worn many hats over the years including producer, DJ, radio show host and label head but is perhaps best known for his adventures in promoting events across London and further afield, starting out co-booking Adventures in the Beetroot Field at Camden’s Lock Tavern before running the seminal Blogger’s Delight at the same venue, to Glastonbury, The End and everywhere in between. After Blogger’s Delight ended Clark started promoting under the BleeD name for In Strict Tempo favourites Blackest Ever Black, Downwards and Diagonal amongst others. 

This recording, taken from London’s Unfold is a two hour journey of deep, brooding techno Volte-Face is synonymous with. In his own words: “Unfold CIV was my first Volte-Face gig since a fateful show at Tresor in 2019. It was good to be back. Apologies for the occasional glitches in the recording”
