Be intentional with the words you want to use and the worlds you want to create. Try to ask yourself three difficult questions every day. Allow your feelings to guide you to the center of what you want to evoke through music. Be caring, patient, persistent, and giving, and what you need will unfold around you in the least expected ways. Work with, collectivize with, plan with loved ones who resonate with your dreams. When you feel like something is missing, work with loved ones to create whatever resource you want to fill the gap for. Learn whatever you can about the music you work with and stay humble throughout the process. And make love a practice to keep honing through your art and your spirit.

DEEP GECKO ENERGY is the first label release for DJ, producer and dancer Rowan Savage. Having cut his teeth in Warrang’s ballroom scenes - as both a dancer, DJ and producer under the name Guy Ruin - Savage’s practice takes its starting point within queer ballroom culture and the celebration of queer Indigeneity. His work has been featured at Soft Centre, Essential Tremors (curated by Angus Andrew of Liars), Carriage Works LiveDreams and Midsumma Festival.

Under a new moniker, salllvage, queer Indigeneity becomes launched into space, and an offering to the burgeoning field of Indigenous futurism is made. Created from field recordings taken on his Country, Kombumerri Country (located in Southeast so-called Queensland), Savage’s music channels his relationship to Country within the esoteric landscape of club music. Sludgey, dubby, bass-y and rhythmic – Deep Gecko Energy is a release that crawls under the skin. Across each of the five tracks - ranging from hard hitting dancefloor bangers to the more subtle rhythms of bass music - the listener is immersed within a constantly shifting field of textures, dynamics, and grit that at once reaches forward into new sonic territories while harnessing a deeply familiar fundamental energy from within.

For the fourth release of Zurich based @anaram-records, @ORTRA presents four club tracks on the Scattered EP (NRM003). 
As much as they diverge in their production approach, they are held together by an overall mood, which draws in the listeners.

Antre opens with a fast-paced 4/4, driving bass, scattered breaks and dubby pads. Vigil perpetuates the atmosphere with a half time, bass-heavy beat, startling arps and otherworldly synths. 12subcult08 is a ride through syncopated beats, subaqueous tones, ravey break sections, changing tempi and an introspective verse central section. Scatter07 unifies ORTRA's love for industrial, broken percussion, glitchy samples, synth jams and heavy bass.
