Parallel Routes is the new Various Artists by Random Numbers. 14 tracks made by artists we love across Europe: A Hand (Italy), Accou (Belgium), Anatolian Weapons (Greece), Artis (Nederland), Bss (Nederland), Black Seed (Italy), BXP (Italy), Carcass Identity (Belgium), Exhausted Modern (Czech Republic), Front De Cadeaux (Italy/Belgium), Heap (Austria), Új Bála (Hungary), UVB76 (France), Wang inc. After the first week of lockdown, we were forced to postpone all of our scheduled releases, so we started thinking about a new V.A.
Our inspiration behind it was the mutual support to overcome the lockdown and the discomfort it brought. As such, we started to contact the artists we love asking them to collaborate.
The result is astonishingly homogeneous, even if we were locked in our homes thousands of kilometers away from each other.
As a record label, we recognize the importance of not interrupting our work, to support independent artists during this global crisis.

We may be apart, but we're going in the same direction. We are in Parallel Routes.

C12 is a multidisciplinary nightclub and platform run by the Deep in House collective, located in the heart of Brussels. It's a safe place where freedom, diversity, creativity and alternative culture are protected from the restrictive and normative outside world. The project was launched in February 2018 and includes concerts, art installations, lives, club nights and exhibitions.

The Corona crisis is keeping our doors closed and dancefloor empty for several weeks now, with no hopes yet on new line-ups and crowds of enthusiastic dancers. But this unprecedented situation isn’t holding us still. Continuing to support our local Brussels and Belgian electronic music scene, C12 is proud to announce its own label with 10 music compilations dubbed Social Distancing. All artists involved are Belgian or strongly connected to the Brussels scene. Confirmed are Le Motel, Stellar OM Source, A.Brehme, Front De Cadeaux, Davy, OCB Casa Voyager, Cabasa, Techno Thriller, Orphan Swords, Different Fountains, Bear Bones Lay Low, Gols, Hadone, ... and our residents Session 4000, Kafim & Chris Ferreira. Compilations will also be curated by female artists promoting platform ‘Psst Mlle’ and queer culture collective ‘Benediction’.

Each edition consists of a collection of several tracks and will be released every two weeks, leading to a total of approximately fifty tracks. All music will be available to add on your favorite streaming service Soundcloud, Youtube, Spotify (coming soon) and Bandcamp. In addition for each track we offer a limited amount of 500 free downloads through our Bandcamp page, where donations are also enabled for those who wish to support us and the artists involved.

Slow Motion is back with ‘Italian Synth Planetarium’, the ultimate mammoth dance compilation featuring three volumes of heterogeneous night anthems. Deriving from the on-going Italian Dance Wave series, this compilation showcases the best Italian electronic artists from around the world. The unmissable grooves weave through the best of the Slow Motion roster including eight debut artists. This massive release will be distributed digitally plus a cassette with a megamix of the tracks provided by maestros Franz Scala and Fabrizio Mammarella.

Following on from their much loved One Night Stands Volume 1 - La Belle Records ups the ante with an epic 2nd volume. Walking the same path as the first record Vol 2 unearths a further 10 mind-blowing examples of 'slo-mo synth-pop, lo-fi fusion, space dubs, tribal grooves and spiralling nu-disco electronics'.

Featuring tracks curated by Golden Bug from some of his robot mates such as : Get A Room!, Strapontin, Funboys, Roe Deers, Front De Cadeaux, Rodion & Leonard de Leonard, Ellis Island (a collaboration between Bawrut and Hot Spell) and many others, all brought together from around the world in the way La Belle Records loves to do.

This is a compilation of danceable but freaked out electronics. Out there productions and truly wild ideas that push the boundary's of what the underground is in 2020. Music that makes any set memorable.

The origins of Front de Cadeaux can be traced back to a dating site for bears, some ten years ago. After Maurizio had spotted a Felix Kubin poster on one of Ugo's pictures, the two started chatting. Very much intrigued, Ugo invited Maurizio, who lives in Brussels, to play at a festival he organised in Rome. Shortly thereafter Ugo made Maurizio a resident of his Subwoofer night, one of the first bear parties in Europa that existed outside of the mainstream bear realm.

The two bonded over food of course, over their belief that dance culture is rotting from the inside, and even more over slow, heavy electronic music. You have to picture it: a flat in Brussels, a table with empty bowls and bottles, thick smoke and these two daddy dj’s listening to stacks and stacks of UK rave and breakbeat records on 33 instead of 45 rpm. Testing how deep and sexy these garbage records sound at a pace the bears can actually follow without dropping dead – Ugo & Maurizio baptised it ‘supreme rallentato’.

During those early encounters, their decade long dj experience merged into one, just like their vision that dance culture urgently needs a revolution. To them that means playing 90 bpm in a club at 3am whilst the promoters are shitting themselves, showing everyone that the body follows the groove, and not the bpm, a capitalist and macho construct that’s making crowds go numb instead of making them dance.

Around 2013, they officially started collaborating as Front de Cadeaux, referring to the Italian way of pronouncing Front 242, the Belgian EBM legends. “Le pédé BPM” (the bpm gay), their first release, followed one year later, with a Fabrizio Mammerella remix that kind of became an anthem in some circles. It's at the same time a celebration of their love for a slower groove as it is a queer manifesto, dissociating themselves from the mainstream gay culture in big cities, dominated by a horrible attitude and bad taste both in music and style. Second single “Infodrogue” came about after the drug line Maurizio worked at, stopped operating after midnight. Backed up by a bubbling bassline, it's telling the sad tale of a junk calling in and no-one answering. The references to culture and real life are everywhere, be it in the track titles of later releases – “Ouvre ta bouche” is a joke about Kate Bush, “Cogitate” a hommage to lsd wizard John C. Lilly – or their sound, which is impregnated by psyche music, mushrooms, dub, triphop and space rock.
Coming hot on the heels of the collaboration ep with long time friend Fabrizio Mamarella earlier this year, featuring their two oldest singles appearing on vinyl for the first time, came Front de Cadeaux’ new 12” on EMET records. “We slowly rot” is a manifesto and an epistemological breakdown of standard, empty club music, for in order to reconnect with what it should be about, our whole idea of dance music has to be deconstructed. As Front de Cadeaux militantly puts it: “every act of the human being is about transformation through destruction”.
