This is my first Supreme Rallentato mix - the technique of playing records cut at 45rpm, at the wrong speed, 33rpm. I call it Chug Funk.

It’s slow, sexy, slinky music for the hips and groin - perfect for rubbing bodies against each other.

Recorded in one take - all vinyl - absolutely no edits (but lots of practice!).

33rpm +8% - Concept, history, difinition:
"1972 marks the year of the commercialization of the Technics SL-1200 turntable.This model, revolutionary, To play a disc, different speed options are available: buttons allow to choose between 33 and 45 revolutions / minute, There are also a slider to modulate the speed more precisely, with a + and - 8% margin of maneuver to accelerate or slow down its disk in order to be able to mix it.

The speed with which the platinum diamond is dragged into the grooves of the disc has a direct effect on the tone of the reproduced sound. A disc pressed in 33 turns played at a speed of 45 turns will seem faster but also more acute, and this several octaves, as when your colleague a little heavy fun with helium balloons during the departure party ***

This is exactly the opposite when a single is played at 33 rpm: slowed down, its tone is lower (the term is "underpainted") and your colleague no longer has a voice of chipmunk but rather that of a robot with slow speech and very deep voice, each element stands out more, and everything becomes more imposing, more hypnotic.

Concept, historique, définition:
"1972 marque l’année de la commercialisation de la platine Technics SL-1200.Ce modèle, révolutionnaire, Pour jouer un disque, différentes options de vitesse sont disponibles: les boutons permettent de choisir entre 33 et 45 tours / minute, Il y a aussi un curseur pour moduler la vitesse plus précisément, avec une marge de manœuvre de + et - 8% pour accélérer ou ralentir son disque afin de pouvoir le mixer.

La vitesse à laquelle le diamant de la platine est entraîné  dans les rainures du disque a un effet direct sur la tonalité du son reproduit. Un disque pressé en 33 tours joué à une vitesse de 45 tours semblera plus rapide mais aussi plus aigu, et ceci de plusieurs octaves, comme lorsque votre collègue de bureau; lors d'un pot de départ, s'amuse un peu avec des ballons d'hélium  ***

C'est exactement le contraire quand un 45t. est joué en 33 tours, ralenti, sa tonalité est plus basse (le terme franglais de rigueur est "underpainted") et votre collègue n'a plus une voix de chipmunk mais plutôt celle d'un robot à la voix lente et profonde, chaque élément se distingue davantage et tout devient plus imposant et plus hypnotique,

Grâce aux platines Technics SL-1200 , Le concept du 33RPM + 8% est devenu possible et  n'a pas disparu depuis .. Les dj's amoureux de cet "effet de style" officient encore et toujours ..."

After an already very prolific dj career, dj Mi-k (Mi-k Van de Velde). in 2008,  decided to turn all his dj experience into production and create WLDBTCH, a new musical concept based on his will to bring to the audience what he thinks is the essence of House music and clubbing: sensuality, sexuality and happiness.

WLBTCH's sound is rooted deep down in disco and electronic. He enriches this mixture with an hypnotic vibe to brings the best grooves from disco to slomo, italo and cosmic house.

He released his first EP on Doctor Vinyl Records and a second released on Enrepôt Records,  with UC Beatz.
