Brooding talent Prequel hops from one West Yorkshire-helmed label to another with a refined, organic EP for Lobster Theremin sub-label Distant Hawaii. 

Tender whispers of nostalgia and an enduring call of solace underpin opener 'The Song I Said I'd Make For You'. Dust-pattered EQ sweeps, twinkling semi-bells and washes of warm, incandescent synth. Buzzing low below the sofa; a hue from the matte surface of a fuzzy carpet. 

'And Though It's Been Too Long' startles, and it also sets. A slowly softening conundrum, a wild thought that coalesces in the briefest moment. Shuffling by but never forgotten. 

Sensual, caressed chords shower over label favourite 'People Say'. A personal moment of true love captured in time; I can see your face; can you see me? Some might call it a reprise of Ross From Friend's epic debut, most will say it's as sultry and captivating as the M&S advert. Rich, melted chocolate sax pouring over a bed of soft, padded sponge drums. 

Sombre note on the tail end; 'Give Me Things That Don't Get Lost' cuts a lonely figure in the morning mist. Bus stop waits, a solo journey through life. They never come. But then four come at once.

Todd Rundgren - Hello, It' Me

First time this is available digitally, free download for a limited time only, folks! 

The first time I heard Sivuca's amazing version of "Ain't No Sunshine" was around '89; acid house was all the rage and, quite frankly, pissing me off a little bit, so we decided to organise a rave of our own. One where you could hear all sorts of sounds. Case in point, the DJ dropped the Sivuca bomb at about six in the morning, the sweat was crawling up the walls and people started peeling off their shirts. It just blew everyone's minds. Then the police turned up. Luckily though, it was just some coppers coming off the night-shift and wanting a beer so we let them in and carried on. 

But I never forgot that moment and recently I decided that I really wanted to do a tribute to that great man and his band, of which this was the result.   

This is track A1 of a 12" vinyl-only release out on Kat Records.

Because resisting was no option once we clicked on this demo link from Holt and the 808 like bass dropped, commanding a supercharged groove that instantly grabbed our attention. Before we knew it, we were spinning around the sounds of striking LFO leads cleverly layered with a siren to solidify its unhinged nature. 
There is no doubt we were drooling with our mouth full, but once we heard it we couldn't get enough of talking 'bout That Donk.
