It's been my honor to remix such a timeless work of art. This song is as beautiful as it is tragic, and I tried to capture a bit of sadness with the end sequence of the track. Witnessing people sing this song at the top of their lungs all across the world continuously reminds me that music can truly live on forever.

Some tracks just happen… 

I grew up listening to The Doors, and Riders on the Storm was always one of my favorite tunes of all time. 

During my first experimentations with playing a full live set, I found myself playing this melody on the saxophone, then I looped the harmony and used a baseline from another track called “Darkness” to bring it all together… that’s how “Riders on the Storm” - the instrumental version became a part of my live sets everywhere I go… 

After playing it a bunch, I felt like it deserved a proper production & recording. 

I played around with it a bit, and it just didn’t work for me with the saxophone. I felt the vocals were missing… I tried to use my own voice but that also wasn’t a good enough representation of the song, so finally, I hit up Nachum from @Automatictoys, and the rest is history… 

I hope you enjoy this upbeat version of this classic tune and dance along as I do (:

Rachid Taha was an Algerian artist, founder of pioneer French Arabic rock band Carte De Séjour, grew up in the Lyon suburbs in France and invented a sort of Rock n' Raï music style. He was born 18th of September 1958 in Saint-Denis-du-Sig (today Sig), near Oran, Algeria. Died 12th of September 2018 in Les Lilas (Seine-Saint-Denis) France. From 1990 till his death he has released some awesome albums and singles. "Ya Rayah" is an amazing piece of Rai music and was released as single back in 1997. Haris Kate pays his respect to Rachid Taha and transforms the original track into a Downtempo/Organic-House bomb!!
