SYRUP combines the musical stylings of two of New Zealand's beloved house music selectors, TETO & SAMMIE. 

They discovered their shared love for deep baselines and silky-smooth vocals in 2019 and with that, SYRUP was born. After only a few short months as a duo, SYRUP was invited to perform at some of New Zealand’s top festivals including Hidden Valley and Rhythm & Vines. 

SYRUP loves to push the boundaries of the traditional ‘party set’, by including shocking elements such as 140bpm industrial techno, blended with music from the 2000s that no one asked for - alas that is the beauty of SYRUP. A few years on SYRUP have made their mark on the NZ dance music scene, having gained a reputation for their dynamic and sometimes shock-worthy sets. 

For this mix, we wanted to showcase some of the tracks we have been loving at the moment. For us, techno has been our drug of choice this year and we really wanted to explore that in this mix along with some other SYRUP staples. The mix overall is pretty chaotic and there are a few sharp cuts and switch-ups (and a few messy mixes lol) but we had so much fun recording it and hope you enjoy it!

The 24 Kitchen Street resident, has supported the likes of heavyweights My Nu Leng, Serum, J-Man and soon Flowdan, and played prime time slots for Rum Riddimz Run and Women’s Wednesdays, as well as my first festival booking for Baltic Weekender playing two sets over the course of the weekend. 

This mix is to promote the upcoming event hosted by a trilogy of amazing promoter one in the woods festival, spectrum and meraki where i will be on supporting for the legendary liquid DnB producer LSB.

Established in Wellington NZ, Threshold, is a collective comprised of two breakbeat enthusiasts devoted to pushing everything underground. Inspired by labels such as the Metalheadz, Rupture London, The North Quarter and 1985 Music has allowed Threshold to craft a style that is unique and undeniably their own. The duo are known for their eclectic offerings, whilst well renouned for their dark early morning jungle sets, Threshold are not afraid to step into smoother soulful vibes or more abrasive, hard tech Drum & Bass. Their focus, however, remains consistent with selection being a core part of their DJ style. This attitude has pushed them forward to support the exploding local and international scene playing alongside names such as Paige Julia, Dutta, Koven, Skepsis, Hound, Millbrook, and more.
