ey funky monkeys, back with that good disco stuff again, with Dexter Jones joining us in the disco jungle. 

He kicks off with the sweet, sweet sounds of Space Sister, a wonderfully cosmic trip that has sunset disco written all over it. On the flip, Dexter heads for proper funked-up grooves with shimmering keys, a killer melody and some seriously saxy sax.

PREMIERE: Ben Banjo Field - Thick Chunky Salsa [Cross Fade Records]

The prolific Manuel Costela has worked in a range of house and disco styles over the years, but this three-tracker for Bengoa's Athens-based B2 Recordings finds him firmly in deep house mode. Opener 'Unpleasant Dreams' is a suitably drifty and abstract affair, albeit still underpinned by a hefty 4/4 kick and with sampled, spoken vox to stop it washing over you. It's 'I Feel It Coming' and 'Inner Journey' that work better for yours truly, though: both (the former especially) are just a little more uptempo and driving, and both add garage-y elements that help infuse proceedings with a little more soul and groove.

Kaninchenbau's main collaborators Sokur and The Funk District helm this latest intergalactic journey in the form of 'All Over You'. It's a superbly tasteful and deep disco joint with lush synth work and the sort of groovy drums that make every head to the floor and get down. Next to the original is a classic 'House Mix' version and then comes two epic remixes on the flip. Both are from accomplished and ever busy Razor-N-Tape producers Nenor and DJ Vas who bring a real touch of classic to their work and offer a different look than the A-side.
