Max Graham is not one to stick to a single genre of music; he approaches each track as puzzle piece to be combined with others to create a vibe, yet each one is unique and plays an important role in the overall story. 

With the Cycles series Graham keeps true to his method and achieves this with a diverse selection of music. From the beautiful piano intro of Silence Groove’s Above You (created exclusively for Cycles 5) to the full on bass heavy beats of Blade Dancer by Balthazar and JackRock, the blend of Techno, Trance and Progressive Trance are the chapters that make up the story that is Max Graham, his cycles radio show and ultimately the Cycles series. 

Featuring two brand new releases from Graham, Cycles 5 is a true reflection of both his DJ sets and his production style. Graham’s new peak-time trancer “Purple" and his collab with Maarten De Jong entitled “Lekker” have exactly the kind of sound you can expect at one of his shows. The Mark Sherry remix of Graham's “The Evil ID” pushes the 2013 hit well into 2014 with a fresh new sound. Also gracing the tracklist are some brand new single releases from Graham’s own imprint Rebrand Records, these include Solid Stone, Aerofeel 5, ReLocate and Robert Nickson as well as Chris Agnelli. Cycles 5 is the latest chapter in the ever evolving taste and career of Max Graham both as a label boss, a producer and most of all a storytelling DJ.

2013 has been another incredible year for the IDMA-nominated Coldharbour Recordings; hosting a plethora of top-tiered releases from its roster. To close out this year, the label is incredibly proud to welcome a new family member, but someone who needs no introduction in the world of electronica.

Belgian producer M.I.K.E. is responsible for some of the most iconic moments in trance music, whether it is under his main alias, or the alter egos of Push or Plastic Boy. And fresh from contributing to Markus Schulz's Buenos Aires '13 compilation with Before Dawn, he presents his first EP of Originals for Coldharbour with three tracks in his unique style.

Leading track The Motive gathers plenty of momentum as the track progresses, and is one that will keep the energy levels high in a liveset. Spacesuit is a slightly deeper take, but accompanied with a haunting melody that shines in the darker moments of a set. And rounding out the package, Mass Freedom is a real hands in the air journey, with acid influences intertwined between the typical M.I.K.E. sound.

After dazzling the New York audience with his performance at the New World Punx show at Roseland Ballroom, M.I.K.E.'s package demonstrates that he continues to be a pivotal contributor to the modern trance scene.

Cosmic Gate know that all good things come in threes… Musketeers, Wise Men, Stooges? All threes… Dimensions? Always cooler with that third one! “3” as the saying goes “is the magic number”! After ‘Falling Back’ & ‘Run Away’, Nic, Bossi & Eric Lumiere this month invoke their own rule-of-three, returning with ‘Edge Of Life’ - their (yep!) third single. 

Back in the spring, ‘am2pm’ scored Tune Of The Week & Future Favourite on ASOT, raced to over 1 million Spotify streams and shot to the #1 slot on Beatport’s trance chart. There it lodged for two straight weeks, receiving substantial DJ & radio support from Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Paul van Dyk, Markus Schulz, Ferry Corsten and others throughout. 

Now for summer, the lads are set to field their first vocal number of the year… Premiered, by Armin on ASOT771 and supported by Ferry Corsten, XXX and XXX, it’s also been praised by DJ Mag (in their 8.5/10 scoring review) as Eric’s “finest vocal to date”. For it the Californian’s dug deep and through verse & chorus, brings a cryptic reflective to ‘Edge Of Life’s theme, while Cosmic Gate’s production supplies its uplift. 

Shedding light on their new single, Nic Chagall says: “a couple of months back, Eric, Bossi and I were talking about how so many people that we admired, had been lost to the world this year. Bossi pointed out that those guys had also done a lot with their lives and really made their time count. I think that struck a major chord with us all”. 

“A couple of weeks later” Bossi continues, “Eric dropped us a line to tell us he had a new demo he wanted to share. We spotted right away that lyrically it had come about from the conversation we’d had. Nic & I were so charged, we went into the studio the next morning and started writing the music for it. ‘Edge Of Life’ was born out of that session.”
