Over the last two decades, Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeats label has launched the careers of some of the most respected names in electronic music: Andrew Bayer, ARTY, Audien, ilan Bluestone, Seven Lions and Mat Zo, to name just a few. In January 2021, the label launched Anjunabeats Rising: a new EP series highlighting the next generation of producers and championing emerging artists from around the world. 

HRRTZ & SHELLS, BUDD and Amy Wiles feature on the latest edition in the series, Anjunabeats Rising Volume 6.

First up is HRRTZ & SHELLS. Having previously caught the attention of David Guetta and Gorgon City, HRRTZ has recruited English singer/songwriter SHELLS. SHELLS has toured widely across the UK and Europe and has performed at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend. 

BUDD’s discography goes back to 2015, with releases on mau5trap, Toolroom Records and Armada. As well as receiving support from BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong, he’s been championed by Above & Beyond on their Group Therapy Radio show. BUDD officially joins the Anjunabeats label family with ‘Life On Fire’.

Rounding off the EP is Anjuna HQ’s own Amy Wiles. She started her DJ career at 16, and has played for us at Tomorrowland, Creamfields, The Warehouse Project and at Anjunabeats club nights across London. She’ll be joining us on the main stage at Group Therapy 450 in August. ‘Biding Time’ is her debut solo production, following remixes for Above & Beyond, Farius and Kyau & Albert.

A true Anjunabeats original, Maor Levi presents ‘Creator’, a collaboration with fellow Israeli Yahel.

Maor has been a semi-regular contributor to Anjunabeats since 2006, and in that time has helped to define the modern sound of the label. Maor first signed to Anjunadeep at the age of 15 with 'Lital', before jumping across to Anjunabeats. He's since banged out a continuous stream of club hits for the label including classics like ‘Reflect’, ‘Shapes’ and ‘Won’t Say No’.

Earlier in 2021, Maor released ‘Save the Last Trance’ and ‘Constellations’, his first solo Anjunabeats releases in over two years. Two new Maor Levi productions were debuted by Above & Beyond at Group Therapy 450 in London.

Maor links up with fellow Israeli Yahel on ‘Creator’. Yahel wears a few hats - producer, DJ multi-instrumentalist - and his productions have been supported by Armin van Buuren, Tiestö, Ferry Corsten and Paul van Dyk.

GRAMMY-nominated duo Fatum collaborate with Mars Atlas on ‘Deserve It’, out now.

Fatum have been label regulars since ‘Mandala’ in 2015. Some of their label hits include, ‘Chocolate’, a cover of Tangerine Dream’s 'Love On A Real Train’, and super collaboration ‘All In’ with Genix, Jaytech & Judah. They’re also prolific remixers, with reworks of Above & Beyond, 3LAU, Gabriel & Dresden, BT & Matt Fax and more under their belt.

Over the past year, Fatum embraced their digital community. They stream regularly on Twitch, and host regular hangouts with fans in their Discord server. Their ‘Stream Starting Soon EP’, released on Anjunabeats in May 2021, was dedicated to their passionate online following.

In the words of Above & Beyond: “Fatum make tracks that demand a big stage”. ‘Deserve It’ was debuted in that style, at A&B’s Group Therapy 450 celebrations in London. The track is a collaboration with vocalist and producer Mars Atlas, aka one half of electronic pop duo Forts.

A while later though, when I heard Fatum's hauntingly beautiful piano beds, I was taken back to that same emotional space and knew that song should belong there. The guys built a world around it that brought the song to life. This is my debut release as Mars Atlas and I couldn't be more excited for the future and to work with Fatum again. Above & Beyond link up with Anjunabeats favourite Mat Zo, on their new collaborative single ‘Always Do’.

An ID from last summer's Group Therapy 450 celebration in London, ‘Always Do’ is a warehouse-ready blend of sounds from Above & Beyond and Mat Zo, complete with distorted vocals and acid-laden basslines. This is not the first time that Above & Beyond and Mat Zo have creatively crossed paths: Mat previously remixed A&B and Richard Bedford’s ‘Thing Called Love’ back in 2012.

‘Always Do’ kicks off Above & Beyond's busy musical schedule for 2022. It was road-tested extensively on the trio’s Anjunafamily Reunion Tour in autumn 2021, which visited all corners of North America, including a pair of sold-out nights at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

In December 2021, Above & Beyond were invited to perform an intimate, livestream DJ set at Piedra del Peñol in Guatape, Colombia for French YouTube sensation Cercle. The replay of their set has been watched nearly three million times on YouTube.

Mat Zo broke onto the scene in 2008 and has been causing an uproar ever since. In the early noughties, he penned Anjunabeats classics like ‘The Lost’ and ‘Synapse Dynamics’ which were far ahead of their time. They were followed by the likes of ‘Superman’, ‘The Sky’, and ‘Rebound’ (with ARTY). He pushed the Anjunabeats sound to the mainstage, racking up spins from Pete Tong, Axwell, and Armin van Buuren. His latest studio album, ‘Illusion of Depth’, was released on the label in October 2020.

Mat joins Anjunabeats at their upcoming label shows in London and Miami. Plus, he’ll be at The Gorge for Group Therapy Weekender 2022 in July, alongside fellow label stars Andrew Bayer, Genix, Oliver Smith, Trance Wax and more. Amy Wiles started her DJ career at 16, and has played for us at Group Therapy 450, Tomorrowland, Creamfields, The Warehouse Project and at Anjunabeats club nights across London. Her debut single ‘Biding Time’ was released in June 2021 as part of the Anjunabeats Rising series, and she’s remixed Above & Beyond, Kyau & Albert, Farius and gardenstate. French producer David Ciekanski (aka Matt Fax) has been releasing music since the age of 15. In 2013, he provided a timeless remix of Jaytech’s ‘Labour Of Love’ and landed his first Guest Mix on Group Therapy. Since then, David has gone from strength to strength on labels such as Enhanced, Colorize, AVA Recordings and This Never Happened, releasing two artist albums and contributing to Colorize’s ‘Colorscapes’ mix compilation series.

Mirror Machines are U.S. production duo Jeremy Dawson and Chad Petree. They caught the attention of Lane 8 in 2021, releasing the ‘Pray For Rain EP’ on his This Never Happened imprint and featuring in several of his seasonal mixtapes. Jeremy and Chad were previously members of indie electronic outfit Shiny Toy Guns – their album ‘We Are Pilots’ received a GRAMMY Award nomination in 2007 for Best Electronic / Dance Album.

“I was working on some original material during lockdown. I posted an idea to my Instagram when Matt Fax dropped into my DM’s. I knew the idea wasn’t quite finished and that it was lacking something, so I asked if he would be down to collab on it and that’s how it became a collaboration.

At the same time, I had been recently chatting to Jeremy and Chad from Mirror Machines. It was slightly surreal when I received the top line from them, as my dad originally got me into Shiny Toy Guns when I was a kid. It’s also a great moment for me working with Matt Fax, having previously worked with him for years as Marketing Manager at Enhanced Music. He’s such a young talent and I love what he has brought to the track!” - Amy Wiles

Getting asked by @aboveandbeyond to remix a song from their new album was a dream come true for us. We have both been fans of them since we first got introduced to electronic music and have been to countless of their shows. The emotions Above & Beyond are able to convey with their music stick with their listeners for a lifetime, and that was always something we wanted to replicate with our project. We’ve had so many life changing experiences watching them live with our friends in the past, happy memories that we will never forget. Those feelings are what sparked us to do our bootleg remix of Love Is Not Enough back in 2014 which showed off the emotional side of our music for the very first time. Now with this new remix we wanted to capture that same feeling we produced in 2014 and bring it into the present day as best as we could.
