Making a welcome return to Sudbeat, the talented Dutch musical master Roger Martinez. Gracing many standout labels inclusing  GEM Records, Lost & Found, Plattenbank and Tronic, this fine DJ and producer keeps delivering the goods with this new three tracker. 

Titletrack is ‘Moksha’, a hypnotic wondrous gem, that locks you into its hypnotic groove, as pads and chords gel, while lasers sweep around, and a crisp percussive construction surrounds. We saunter along as cool synths and squelches join the adventure, while the dreamy yet murky break down comes in to its own.

‘Neumarkt’ is a punchier cut, laced with cool percussion, some misty pads and a mesmerising vibe. Trippy vocal snippets, crisp beats and sweeping sounds add to the mix, creating a fantastical voyage.

And to finish things properly, ‘Godess’, a filthy little number, with its cool swagger unpinned by some nice low end bass, while a bubbling top-line tinkles away beautifully, all creating a magnificent soundscape to create a dance floor frenzy. Its subtleties here being its strength as we meander effortlessly along, raising many a smile en route.

Opener Galactica sets the tone with electric pads and spacious, echo-ridden synths that create a playful yet compelling melody with a highly memorable bassline. In celebration of Replug’s ten year anniversary Cid Inc & Orsen present their debut collaboration alongside remixes from Nick Muir and Barry Jamieson. Founded in 2009 by Finnish artist and DJ Henri Hurtig aka Cid Inc., Replug has carefully forged a path to progressive music excellence. Through releasing much of Henri’s most sought after material to the genre’s freshest artists, the label has continued to flourish and forever has it’s finger on the pulse of the movement. Having already released his ‘Look Twice’ EP in March of 2015, it was January of 2016 which saw UK born, Austria based artist Dan Baseley aka Orsen take over the label’s managerial duties. A key moment in Replug's journey, as Cid Inc’s tour schedule and mastering service had left him less time to focus on the label. Moving forward the duo proved to be a great team, with Replug furthering itself as a premiere destination for progressive music’s most sought after talent. Now in what has been a remarkable decade long journey, it seems only appropriate that Cid Inc and Orsen unite to commemorate the occasion with the aptly titled ‘Ten’. 

From the opening bars of ‘Ten’ you get an immediate sense of how strong the creative synergy is between Cid Inc and Orsen. Powerful and inviting, it’s warm foundation is full of contour and character, while a buzzing tone and rugged design build tension as the narrative takes shape. Hitting early, a short break serves to introduce an astral arp, playing off the rhythmic elements and adding further cadence to already swing heavy groove. Spanning over a minute in length, it is the second and final break which provides a unique contrast of emotion and drama. As modulation reaches a feverous peak, impassioned chord changes offset the metallic wall, before getting washed away into a wave of cosmic effects as the groove drops for a thunderous finale.

onedotsixtwo’s final release of 2020 comes from one of the labels favourite contributors, Colombia’s progressive superstar, Kamilo Sanclemente, in a joint production with another stalwart of Colombia’s electronic music scene, Mauro Aguirre. This is not the pair’s first collaboration. They have worked together on a number of originals and remixes over the past few years including offerings on Hope Recordings, Manual Music, and most recently Proton.

Separately Kamilo Sanclemente has had another a huge year with his profile on the global progressive scene going from strength to strength due to a on-going supply of releases featuring his trademark progressive sound, which has been constantly championed by the major players, and topped off by his Urania, his recent release on The Soundgarden, that has taken the charts by storm. 

Hallucinations is a beast of a track which takes no prisoners from the off. A tight kick and an elastic bassline interspersed with reverberating fx leads into a scorching first drop, which in turn releases a mesmerising lead synth line. Complex fx continue to ebb and flow, stabbing through the rumbling lead bass. As the main break reaches it’s powerful crescendo a hauntingly beautiful dual Indian vocal appears and takes the track into full orbit. As has been shown on their previous collaborations Kamilo and Mauro are a combo to be reckoned with. 

On remix duties are Argentina’s Ezequiel Anile and Nicolas Petracca, AKA EANP, who have crafted Hallucinations into a deep brooding dark room progressive groover with a nod to the old school, and reminiscent of the sound of the early progressive pioneers like Morel. Ezequiel and Nicolas have been working together since 2014 as EANP. They debuted on onedotsixtwo early in 2020 with their outstanding three track Sunlights EP, and have released a steady stream of impeccable progressive gems on labels such as Serendeep, Droid9, Or Two Strangers and Balkan Connection during 2020 alone.

onedotsixtwo are saying goodbye to 2020 with a bang and looking ahead to a less challenging year in 2021 where we can all get back to the place we love the most, our hallowed dancefloors.
