Dark Machine Funk is delighted to welcome the first guest producer into the fold, Head Front Panel. A huge source of inspiration to DMF since those highly sought after HFP 12”s hit the record store racks in 2014, Head Front Panel delivers a superb well rounded 4 track EP titled ‘Tactile’ for DMF’s 5th release.

The opening track 'Panama' opens with some otherworldly pads, sweeping resonances tickle the ear before signature HFP drums hit you with pure engaging energy. Broken kick drums and rattling percussion perfectly sit on this hypnotic tribal-esque sonic dream, a depth and area that we've not heard from HFP before. 'Tactile' brings the perfect tool, loopy rhythms that stretch the perception of time whilst getting lost in subtle rides and eerie door creaking atmospheres, deep listening will provide a new journey on every repeat. 'Surdo' open's side B, and we're catapulted into the fire with shaker/hi hat percussions that grab your attention immediately and vocal samples scatter across the stereo field. Shimmering pads take the track into deeper territory but all while keeping in a constant state of forward motion accented by the occasional double kick drum. With an album as versatile and expansive as his LP Fusion, Len Faki wanted a collection of remixes to display a similar kind of musical variety. Hand-picked from his favorite producers, the cast now features a diverse group of artists who have re-imagined 20 of Fusion’s tracks, set to arrive on two double and one single 12“ EP. 

FigureX39 kicks off the trilogy, with our very own Arthur Robert at the helm, fittingly remaking the album’s pensive closer into a melodic peak time stomper. Ø [Phase] ramps up the intensity on straight-laced Temple, keeping the BPM in line with modern techno’s need for speed. 
On the flip, rRoxymore inverts Tor 8 into a psychedelic funnel of haunted voices and pummeling percussion, while dubby synth swirls and ferocious filter action give Pangea’s rework of Space Cowboys I a distinctly UK-feel. 

Coming in as hard-hitting as ever, PAS layers high-octane rave stabs and nonstop propulsive drums on his version of Yantra, and one of the album’s few original house tracks, It’s Time … gets the Truncate treatment, making for lean, clap-heavy groover with enough low-end to move some bodies. Giacomo Raisi mostly known as Jack's trip is a DJ, music producer and audio engineer based in Berlin.

The foundation of Jack's music lies in dense textures, intriguing grooves, and field recordings. His characteristic blend of creative distortion and glitchy organic sound design offers unexpected moments in every track. Experimentation plays a crucial role in his work, as he seamlessly combines various elements, genres, and concepts.

Giacomo embarked on his journey in electronic music production at a young age and quickly delved into the world of DJing. Throughout his career, he has explored a multitude of genres, with a particular focus on the dance floor. Growing up in an environment rich in diverse art and cultures, his dual Italian and Peruvian nationality further contributed to his artistic development.

Having lived in different countries and travelled extensively, Giacomo's mind has been opened to artistic experimentation, allowing him to explore various concepts and methods to establish his own identity and sound as a DJ, producer, and sound designer. His artistic influences stem from genres such as Psychedelic and Progressive rock, Techno, Experimental, and Cinematic music.

With foundations defined by artistic freedom and opportunity, the label represents a mutual appreciation for the digital and physical realms, with a debut VA presented on two slabs of glorious wax.

Our first VA installment opens with label co-founder ADMINISTRATOR’s erratic and brooding synth composition, ‘VER5e+01’. LSS kicks it up a gear with the soothing sensory zapper ‘Perch’. The B-side flips to Texas-based Decoder with the delirious hypnotic stomper, ‘Giggling’, followed by Lindsey Herbert’s dancefloor weapon straight out of L.A., ’Control’.

Co-founder Connor Wall opens the C-side with the rich and unrelenting grooves of ‘Setback’. Emerging Naarm sensation, Neo, pushes the pedal down with the face-melting ‘Suppressed Actions’. All followed by Lask’s no-nonsense, dimension transporting acidic roller ‘Deepbush’. Flip the record and flip out to Arthur Robert's thrilling 'Kepler 452b', closed out by Sweden-based Franz Jager’s lush techno heater ‘Kantine’, a superior rush of rhythm with flourishes of funk.

'One' is the debut album from burgeoning Portuguese techno producer Afonso Esperança aka Backbone @backbone-3

After his 'Gatekeeper' EP (COUNTER033), including the iconic 'Take A Trip' which gathered support far and wide, Backbone stretches out over nine wonderfully detailed and intense tracks.

Exploring the modern techno paradigm, 'One' is full of positively charged, bassline-driven heaters. The founder of the Vinculum Festival in Portugal, Esperança's unique sound design, vocal FX and tension-heavy arrangements carve a clear course from the heart to the dancefloor. From the tingling ambient intro of 'Mundo Novo' straight into the addictive 'Press To Regenerate' its clear there's countless details to discover forged into these tracks.

Counterchange founder Inland straps in on 'Generation Gap', one of the early highlights of the album, with its surging industrial pulse and funky forward momentum.

The stunning broken beats and bleeps of 'There Is No Spoon' hit hard and dark while remaining elegant and certainly not over-driven. Every track on the LP is a microcosm of Backbone's kinetic techno manifesto - he infuses a rich stereo image, textured crunch and silky bass-end bounce on stand-out tracks like 'Strike A Dose', 'Minucioso' and 'No Casket Space'.

Bringing the album to a close with the night-time drive of 'Ride The Snake', Backbone summons the spirits of his mountainous home region in a hypnotising, shamanic ritual for the closing sets.

When I created "The Chill Pulse," I envisioned soothing waves of sound that blend chilled vibes with a touch of sexiness and happiness. My goal was to craft an electronic dance track that serves as your perfect companion for both relaxing and dancing.

Picture yourself on a beach at sunset, with the sky painted in hues of blue and purple. I wanted the rhythm to gently pull you into a state of relaxation, while the underlying beat encourages you to move. It's the kind of track designed to make you sway gently with the waves, feeling the cool breeze on your skin.

"The Chill Pulse" was crafted for those laid-back moments when you want to unwind and let the music wash over you. Whether you're lounging by the pool, hosting a sunset gathering with friends, or taking a late-night drive through the city, I aimed for this track to set the perfect mood.

I incorporated warm synthesizers and gentle percussion to create an ambient soundscape. The subtle electronic drums provide a steady pulse, while the occasional bass and piano notes add depth and texture.

With a positive emotional profile and medium energy level, "The Chill Pulse" is versatile. I wanted it to be perfect for a chill beach day, a relaxed evening at home, or as the background to your creative projects. This track is more than just a song; it's an experience meant to capture the essence of electronic relaxation and dance.
