Astral VIP (and more) are here to remedy the monotony! by rehashing what you’ve already heard? but alas, no one is perfect. Outliers and outcasts have always created pockets in the mould of the city, smoke and wubs away from the lights and hammer. This collection of 14 tracks comes from such a dent, representative of different scenes all dedicated to this approach, coming from dank corners, away from big business.

Our offering is a tribute to the mix CDs of dance before (Global Underground et al), with AVIP’s very own Dugong on the 1s and 2s blending contributions from analogous crew into one continuous mix. Future-past made present, for potentially discontinued CD drives. For the sake of tangibility, in times that surge ahead regardless.

All profits from this compilation are being donated to 3EZWA Legal Fund, to help financially assist those facing draconian legal fees as part of the current protest movement in solidarity with Palestine & Lebanon.

o•rbyss aims to help soothe the queer spectrum and focus on the well-being of the community. Queer DJs are invited to submit a mix to showcase an alternative side to their music library outside of a rave and take us on a meditative journey. ✨

Notes on the mix:

"I recorded this mix in the early days of Spring in Berlin. Sunlight poured through my window, dancing off the blossoming branches in the courtyard. Birds were singing, the air was cool and fresh — the kind that makes you want to slow down and breathe a little deeper.
I lit some incense, sifted through my collection, and picked out tracks and records that felt right in the moment. Then I hit play — one take, all heart.
This set is made for quiet moments: lying back at home, wandering through a park, or melting into a post-party cuddle session. Over the past few years, I’ve been diving deeper into the ambient and downtempo side of music, and I’m so excited to keep exploring and sharing this softer, slower space."

Rooted in the queer party scene, 131bpm is a dancefloor troublemaker known for stirring up energy wherever he plays. With a constantly evolving sound, he's carving out a reputation as both DJ and producer, celebrated for his passion for digging and his eclectic love for music. Ce premier mix est une promesse de voyage : laissez-vous entraîner dans une danse silencieuse à travers des rythmes lents et envoûtants d’ambient, de dub et de downtempo. 

C’est également la première partie de la série “Métabolisme”, processus biologique se déroulant en deux temps : l’anabolisme (les réactions de synthèse) et le catabolisme (la dégradation moléculaire). 
Les deux mixes éponymes, composés de sonorités organiques profondes, sont ainsi les échos des réactions chimiques qui se produisent dans les organismes vivants.
