"In My House" is a "bucket list" song Nickodemus always dreamed of covering into an actual House version. After a weekend of hanging with Bam from the Jungle Brothers in Brooklyn, they called over Carol C & Lisa Shaw to lay down some vocals. Going for that straight ahead 90's hard hitting house vibe, Bam flipped his verse to show everyone how it was done back in the day. France's house producer ART OF TONES made 2 remix versions on the flip-side taking it deeper into club zone.

On the flip-side: 
After the US elections in November, Nickodemus decided the need to add an updated 2017 "FUNK THAT" version to the release. It features NYC house music party & radio host legends THE ILLUSTRIOUS BLACKS over a funky break & deep chords reminiscing the original 90's release. "Question, how can someone who is sexist racist, homophopic, Islamophobic, and an ableist become president of the United States of America? FUNK THAT!"

Wonderwheel is happy to welcome in Montreal based producer & don dada Poirier for his first release on the label, the "Be Alright" EP. Moving away from the traditional dancehall, dub and soca sounds he’s become known for, Poirier delivers a 4 track of Afro-House influenced dancefloor firestarters. “Sowia” heads to South East Africa with it’s floating guitar hooks, big bassline, and vocals in Portugese from Canadian-Moçambican singer Samito. “Ginobili” goes into deeper territory with four to the floor drums, heavily chopped percussion, and a hypnotizing distorted Mbira line, while “Camera” continues the tropical vibe with a nod to Semba with it’s driving guitar lines, staccato synth lines and thumping drums. “Antilles Trax” rounds it out as the extended instrumental version of “Sowia”.

"Manman Mwan" is a dedication to the power of mothers, including the mother of us all Mama Earth. Featuring vocals in Haitian Creole, accompanied by 808 sub bass and traditional Rasin horns, this one is a future roots dancefloor sureshot.

The full Mystery Trip Vol.II mixtape - drops July 10th on Bastard Jazz Records. This project is all about going back to my roots: pulling out obscure vinyl from my global collection, then lovingly chopping, remixing and editing them into new tracks with a contemporary edge and classic Captain Planet touch. All 9 edits have been blended, along with other audio samples and field recordings, into a 45min mix, which will be printed to cassette tapes like my earliest mixes from the late 90's. Similar to Mystery Trip Vol.I, which was listed in Sasha Frere-Jones "Best Music Of 2012", Vol.II leads you on a psychedelic journey to destinations around the world, where you are drawn out of your sonic comfort zone via a soundtrack that bridges styles of music from Asia and Africa to South America, The Caribbean and beyond.
