Jason Lankino is a Sri Lankan-born musician based in Auckland, New Zealand, often associated with popularizing the urban tropical sound in the region. Drawing from a wide range of influences from Latin America/the Caribbean, and his own childhood in Sri Lanka, formerly known as Ceilão under the Portuguese rule. 

Lankino teamed up with Chilean producer Mauricio 'Melodiko' Ravet Jr and released "The Grand Unification, Vol.1" in 2015, an assortment of urban Latin infused hip hop and reggaeton. Lankino's Latin influence is credited to Sri Lanka's strong Afro-Portuguese cultural imprint and his travels in Cuba and Brazil. 

His music is well-received on home turf, "Roots" winning the YES101 Homegrown Music award for Best Hip Hop/Reggae Track in 2015. "Sunshine" a breezy reggae tune topped the YES101 radio charts in June 2015. 

Lankino is now involved in a solo project, a three-part EP series titled "NEOGN|O|SIS" - a psychedelic smorgasbord of urban tropical music with Lankino's familiar reggae roots flavour infused with West African and South Asian spiritual sounds.
