FREQ of the week! A studio-head in the true sense of the word, YokoO’s last 20 years have seen him master house music in all its deepest forms. With a prolific and impressive discography, YokoO has made his mark on noteworthy labels to date with original releases and a back- catalogue of strong remixes.

He’s turned the heads of many a label boss from Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Matthew Dekay, Lee Burridge, MANDY, as well as racked up plays from a broad spectrum of industry reference artists. YokoO’s music has proven time and time again it can reach the record bags of the DJing elite in every continent.

His most recent notable projects Pachamama and Euneirophrenia anticipated the evolution behind the January ’21 release of his latest EP Jivanmuktih on Crosstown Rebels’ offshoot Rebellion. 2021 marks for YokoO the re-birth into a significant new chapter of his career as a producer, with a matured musical intuition charged with seductive blends of eclectic, deep, minimal and hypnotic house grooves.

Like a mantra vibrating beat by beat, his music abides only to his deepest meditative intuition and revolves around the creation of unbound free flowing states of creativity echoing in stillness a deep connection to nature where every subtle detail counts for rich in artistic expression and depth.

With these words, DJ YokoO explains how he draws inspiration from his Yoga practice and the Yamas as he prepares for the launch of his new label SATYA, a project that signifies the maturing into a state of unbridled surrender to the craft. With SATYA, he intends to support and represent artists who embrace creativity as a non-compromising act devoid of any expectation.

Hoj has been playing music at Burning Man since 2004. After all those sets on the playa, he still has no clue what "playa tech" is. But he did play this 4-hour set at the Kazbah on Wednesday night this year. Call it what you want. He just calls it a damn good night in a special place with very special people.

I’m happy to release my recording from Sandbox Festival in Hurghada Egypt. I always love playing the Middle East. The sights, sounds, tastes, and smells are very different than my home, all of which represent one of my favorite aspects of DJing: getting enjoy the world’s diversity. Beyond that, I’ve found that the people of the region are an incredibly friendly and passionate bunch, so playing a festival that attracts the heads from many across the region was special for me.

The Sandbox mainstage was a big one - these stages are sometimes tricky for me as I feel pressured to go for the jugular and bang out a medley of big drops for those hands in the air moments, but I resisted the pressure and went instead for undulation between the deep moments building to the big ones while maintaining a steady groove through. Hope that idea came through, hope you enjoy the set, and can’t wait to make my way back to the Middle East!

Fuchs kickstarted what seems to be a lifelong career in radio and music in 1999. As one of the most in demand dj's he played in hundreds of clubs both at home and abroad. His energetic performances, open-minded selection and inspirational sequencing made many music crazed dance freaks happy on the dance floor.
In 2003 he founded Dinamo (http://www.dinamo.fm) and became its spiritual leader and musical director in what would be one of his greater accomplishments for the music scene. During the eight years at the helm of Dinamo, he helped it into an institution, which not only provided room and space for new artists and producers, but also curated and organised various contests and festivals such as the noted Miller Music Factory and the legendary Radar Live.
Fuchs continues to appear at as many parties as he can all over the world, with his dedicated fanbase always by his side, or a beat behind him.
