Coming from the heart of Bosnia, Solomun is a passionate DJ who certainly knows how to please a crowd and keep the energy on the floor. Equally as talented and creative in the studio, he has many releases to his name on his own label Diynamic, as well as other imprints such as Four:Twenty, liebe*detail and Dessous recordings. Made for the dancefloor, his productions always have an element of funk or surprise, reminding people of the fun that's there to be had with music. As a label with many close ties to mobilee records, Diynamic will be co-hosting a party at mobilee's Sonar 2010 celebrations, which makes it even more fitting that this release brings the two forces more closely together.

Solomun's next big bang, being brought to you via Leena music, is a sure extension of his impeccable production skills and style, and is also one of the most unique releases you will here on the label so far. A-side 'Sisi' opens with a head-spinning explosion of notes and chords, being fired out like sparks in a continual loop. Then half way through the record, they dramatically stop, only to soon build up again and set the roller coaster off once more. B-side 'Talk To The Hand' is a bass-heavy and punchy track, that surprises you with euphoric piano chords in the second half, whilst B2 'Curesto' brings all of the elements together with piano chords, build-ups and some drama. "HIGH TONE MEETS BRAIN DAMAGE"

Il y a presque 10 ans, High Tone lançait le projet In a dubtone sessions comme un instrument supplémentaire à leur présentation d'un nouveau style de dub, porté par la fusion et l'expérimentation sonore. Le principe était de collaborer avec les principaux activistes de la scène dub/mutant "à la française" : Kaly Live Dub, Improvisators Dub, Wang Leï, Zenzile.

High Tone invite aujourd'hui Brain Damage à écrire un nouveau chapitre de cette recherche musicale. Deux entités cousines liées par des références et une philosophie commune qui les a toujours porté à ne jamais clore de limite leur horizon.
Naturellement intitulée High Damage, cette nouvelle fusion est une véritable synergie entre une énergie presque organique et la régularité hypnotique de la machine. Habitués à tracer eux-mêmes les chemins de traverse, à sortir du cadre, les deux groupes ont ici créé à rebours, laissant libre cours aux premières intentions de chacun, aux ressentis, à l'émulation, et travaillant pour la première fois la matière brute du live pour générer l'album.

Vortex attirant dans son tourbillon dubstep, noise, hiphop, break beat, techno, ou reggae pour les transfigurer et les sublimer, les vibrations musicales d'High Damage génèrent une imagerie onirique obsédante. Leur musique est un regard, sombre, souvent lucide, quelque fois halluciné, qui porte son auditoire à voir dans ce monde uchronique qui surgit autour de lui les traces d'un passé presque nostalgique et les bribes d'un présent maquillé de futur.

Le voyage n'est pas seulement temporel : de l'aube au crépuscule, il s'affranchit des barrières ethniques et parle les langues de Babel, il marrie accordéon, wobble, sonorités chiptune et guitare surf, il révèle les défauts de villes désespérément froides alors qu'elles fourmillent, il fait basculer la boite à musique de notre enfance vers une horloge qui sonne le glas.

High Damage assume les paradoxes qu'offrent sa musique. Si le propos est dense et sans concession , reflet accentué mais pragmatique de notre réalité, les beats hyper calibrés et le groove sauvage des compositions nous entraîne pourtant dans une transe dansante.
Le nom de l'entité parle de lui-même. Mais il ne faut pas craindre l'électrochoc sensitif promis, il est peut être le sursaut qui réveillera ce dernier homme dont parlait Zarathoustra.

From "Bass Temperature"

Despite these 12 Tracks, this record is no album but rather a compilation of the first 3 EPs of the band, until now only released in vinyl. It includes the most recent one " Bass temperature "(2001), with famous tracks " Echo Logik " and " Train to TranSylvania " filled with samples by Dj 12. 

Then comes " Low tone " - second EP released in 1999, with such jewels as " The Orientalist ", " Hempro 905 " and " N°1 station " a kind of frenetic dub-steppa-tekno. Finally, " Bot Bud Season " first record by the 5-piece (1998) is just as stunning.... Maybe the best of all three!!! Big up to " Dubiously " which still turns dancefloors upside down today !

High Tone - Echo Logik

From "Underground Wobble"

In 2005, the album Wave Digger paves the way for two years of tour in France and worldwide, multiplying encounters and collaborations (Wangtone with Wang Lei, Zentone with Zenzile, Re-Processed remixed by their mates) and diffusing their tribal electro-dub, blending heavy breaked bassline and nervous scratches. They come back in 2007 with "Underground Wobbles" : their fourth opus seems more calm, far from Jungle, Hip Hop, Electronica or Dub experimentations, typical of Wave Digger. Entering more downtempos spheres, machines and programmation left space for instruments. Narrative and often complex compositions absorb the listener in a psychedelic and misty trip (Understellar, Round Trip...), highly-seasoned here and there by nervous and fickle tracks (Freakency, Ask The Dust, Speed 110).

As far as harmonies and melodies are concerned, they evolved too, taking High Tone to a sound more accomplished than ever, recognizable anywhere, possessed by teeming influences... To cut a long story short, with his so personnal style, High Tone mixes with a disconcerting talent electronic musics, ethnic samples and surgical scratches. Underground Wobble assert itself as the cornerstone of the works, in constant evolution, of a group tirelessly guided by clearing up new horizons, by the opening of new ways, with as line of sight the willing to never paraphrase oneself. That state of mind is the privilege of the great and the good.
