“24 Carat Gleam” is the shimmery new single from Swedish producer Max I Million. It’s also the latest track off his highly anticipated new LP, Shine On…, which deftly bridges the gap between lo-fi and hip-hop. And on this cut, Max uses his signature sound to deliver a spin on both genres that would make any jazz vibraphonist happy, from Gary Burton to Bobby Hutcherson. 



“Soul Medicine” can be supported through all major DSPs, with Shine On… set for an August 25th and available now for pre-order via Coalmine Records. Vinyl copies are pressed in an eye catching black, tangerine and silver swirl color configuration on 180g discs. The album packaging also features an inner board sleeve with both sides illustrated by MC Blue Matter, with the album cover and layout illustrated by collage artist Jesse Stone.

This mix is very special to me as it is dedicated to the honor of the late great J Dilla. I made this to showcase the versatility & amazing quality of work from one of the greatest producers of all-time. 
   From emerging from the gritty city of Detroit to showcasing his genius to the entire world before his passing at age 32, Dilla (also known as Jay Dee) always kept his love for all forms of music front and center. It's my honor and duty to continue to push music forward and keep his memory alive with everything I have in me. 
       I will post a tracklist soon but I want you all to just engulf the mix and embrace the rhythms. Music can truly change lives and we all must be creative in every aspect of our lives. Word to Dilla.

This is the first mix of a series that we're starting, titled "Playdutshet". The series is inspired from when making mixtapes were fun to make, as well as to listen to. Definitely not your average b-boy mixtape, but one you'll definitely enjoy...This vol. is loaded with your not so known hard breaks!...Because were both Filipinos, we thought we would have fun and pay homage to our culture, by transforming into our altered egos, as "Uncles". Every nationality has that fun uncle at family parties, that loves to get drunk, be loud, crack jokes that makes everybody laugh. Well, with that being said....enjoy listening to "Playdutshet"....and you'll see what we mean...haha....LGA ALL DAY!

DJ Basic & DJ Sureshot - Playdutshet Volume 1

This is the second installment of the Playdutshet series started by DJ Basic. At jams we like to play all kinds of records and not just the hardcore drum breaks, so we wanted to change the format a little bit this time around. For this volume, we decided to highlight the vocals that are often left out when DJs play breaks -- but still done in a manner for the bboys! So every song on here has some funky singing on it!



We also continued the funny "uncle" theme Basic and Sureshot started with the first mix to put a little bit of our Filipino heritage in our work. We also used the Russian neighbor singing karaoke skit as our entire basis for this volume, where everyone singing on the mix are guests at our family party (karaoke is a BIG staple at many Filipino parties). So, just a little extra flava to make things funny (Think DJ Qbert/Skratch Piklz/etc).

"check it... this mix means a whole lot to me! This was the first mix that I ever did and pretty much what really put me down the path I have taken on this DJ shit... Big ups to my brother Buddy Vladimir Decastro for teachin the kid the ropes.. I learned a lot about DJing just by working on this mix... How to put things together in a cohesive fashion, how to flava that shit out, etc.. This was a strong foundation on my DJing today foreal... We worked on this for like 4 straight days from 9pm to like 5am... Had to go to class and work the next day, then right back to recording... Damn the good ol days lol... But yo... We been wanting to put up our old mixes for free downloads since the internet isn't what it is now a few years ago (crazy)! So here ya go, the entire mix free to download!
