When i was around 6 my favorite show in Germany was Sesamstrasse. It was a German adaptation of the American Sesame Street. I was really crazy about the show, and I used to always watch it at my Grandparents in Germany.

The intro song was very dear to me. The lyrics went Der Die Das, Wie Weshalb Warum. Which ruffly translates to He She It, How, For what reason, Why.

The intro song spawned this Childish Curiosity in me. I had to explore everything around me. I would bang on lids in the kitchen to hear what they sounded like.

It was this song that made we want to make sounds with different objects, and experiment with early rythms. From this moment on i was engulfed in anything that made a sound.

As the Summer draws to a close Serge Devant returns once more to Damian Lazarus’s Crosstown Rebels with the highly infectious ‘This Moment’ EP. Serge original tracks are accompanied by a great Dinky remix, to complete this great package.

Opening up the EP with ‘This Moment’, Devant has created a track that implores the listener to stop and take in all the vibrations, effects and melodies. This is a piece of music that intricately weaves together a hefty bass, curious sounds and an addictive horn. Pay close attention to ‘In Time’ and you will be absorbed once more in an enchanting world where all you can do is follow the rhythm of the drums. Fresh on the trail of this year’s exceptional long player ‘Noir’, Steve Bug returns with perhaps his most deep house-oriented track in a while – ‘The Long Run’.

Teaming up with US house legend Mr. V, who inititally donated vocals only, the collaboration brought up Mr V‘s own interpretation of Bug‘s track. This release is as delicious a serving of classic New York deep house as you will hear all year – or any year.

Dessous’ main man is at the controls, riding out a sumptuous, Rhodes-driven groove that references golden era Kerri Chandler and friends, but remains completely rooted in 2012. Mr V’s spoken word vocal lays out the manifesto for these two house pioneers – both are committed to quality music, made with passion and respect.

Next stop on ‘The Long Run’ is Mr. V’s stunning take on the same track. Ratcheting up the percussive elements, the New York native injects hints of the Latin rhythms that define many of his productions, making this into a stone-cold club banger whatever the party.

Both tracks come with corresponding instrumental versions for the DJs, rounding out this irresistible release that continues Dessous’ outstanding run of releases this year.
